Immediately? Data doesn't automaticallg get dumped immediately. You take a large amount of data and throw it at a device, and you're bound to get a residue somewhere. For an example, RAM leaves a trace image of the bits for several minutes, more if it is cooled down. I'd imagine a similar process would happen with pretty much all computer parts previously thought of as 'immediate data dumpers'. The only way it could get wiped off enough to be unreadable quickly would be to overwrite that data other data; in other words, another program has to be able to supplant the old one. It's possible that the Xbox's OS or Halo's program does do this; however, there's no reference ever given to there being a program in the Xbox to do this. Even if there was, a bug like this probably wouldn't have been detected, and they probably didn't include a feature to completely auto-wipe the data every time to load a new map. However, it's still really unlikely that this is real. If it is, then it's probably a one time event. You'd need insanely-high chances of even hitting this same glitch once, with several different factors involved.
Yes, because Bungie includes modded maps in Matchmaking. Idiot. No, my Xbox shut off in the middle of the game and got the RRoD. The game was really laggy and ****, and I think it just like overheated my Xbox because there was too much ****.
So like it was half Foundry, half Avalanche? Favalanche? Avandry? Anyway this does sound fake to me. It just seems to weird. Are you 100% sure that you're friends game wasn't like, modded or somthing? If you post pics or a vid of this then I'll apologize for not believeing, but until then this just sounds a little bit.... fake.
They are both DLC maps so..... did your hard drive get ****ed up? That could have caused it to happen. Also he means that Foundry was overlayed onto Avalanche. It wasn't half of either map. It was both. At once. EDIT: Also, if it is real, it wasn't modded. Trust me, that's not possible to mod, I would know.
No, my hard drive is perfectly fine. Nothing is wrong with it. And it wasn't my friends game, it was mine.
Taking items from 1 map and spawning them in another map? This could be interesting. The first opportunity you get to take pictures of this, please do so. I am interested to see this for myself.
I have no idea how this would happen or how it could be remade. If this is true, just do exactly what you did last time. Are you sure you dont have any maps or pics?
i hope this is true do you think you could upload this to gamevee or something and if you have a capture card put it on youtube, becuase if this is new,it will be almost as huge as merging
This is a real occurance, It has happened to me several times while forging on sandtrap. I dont know what caused it but I will try to do it again and record the video, I should have it up by this saturday (1/3/09).
Ok, that makes me feel beter, now that i know that this has happen and that i wasn't just remembering wrong. also Malauk pm me with a link to the video when you post it. -Teaco
In modding, isn't it possible to place certain objects from campaign etc. onto multiplayer maps, such as modding invincibility (equipment) into Cold Storage, thus indicating that the object cache or whatever it is isn't completely independent from all of the other maps? Wouldn't that make it possible, though very unlikely for this to occur?
Wow if we could somehow find a way to get foundry stuff on last resort exc exc think of the AMAZING Halo racetracks if we could create this this would be almost as good as sex lolololololololoolol just kidding...
I cannot tell you how many times i have gotten my hopes up when someone talks about ridiculous glitches such as these (5). anyways, hopefully this won't be another let down
