Okay. Here's a debatable question. Is it morals, or protection from AIDS and murder that is making the government want to ban prostitution. Feel free to quote my previous post to answer this one playa.
Well obviously you don't know half about prostitution... Lol, now seriously I will go until my likings are met.
There are measures that can be taken to help prevent the transfer of STDs. You can easily catch STDs from other people. Most of the transfer of STDs comes from teenagers having sex.
... I really don't know where to start. First of all, Pimps have that now as it is illegal. If the prostitute tries to go to the cops, she goes to jail and therefore she has no protection from the Pimp. But if it were legal. Any abuse from the Pimp can be reported and he'd be jailed. Anything else will just be percieved as though I'm attacking you so I'll omit the rest. No, we have good points. You are showing how ignorant you are in the subject.
It's the wives. They don't want their husband ****ing another hotty, so they use their shadow cabinet powers to pass laws against guy on non-wife lady sex.
Obviously you do not know anything about people's rights, even you dicuss them over and over. (Even though you make no sense.) One person cannot have control of another person. It is an ignorant assumption that the legalization of prostitution would allow this to occur.
You see, prostitutes are usually employed by a pimp. That's a person who has a general area reserved for only the girls that work for him, and "owns" it sometimes by force. Thus, girls who live in the area have to work for him instead of being on their own. Then, he collects part of the money they earn. Sometimes though, alot even, prostitutes try to push one over on the pimp and give them less than their share because they are either A. Poor and need the money, or B. Spend it unwisely. They are usually then in debt to him and have to work for less, do things for him, and whatnot. As you can see, the prostitute will end up being like a slave. You are dealing with the low, low end of the wealth pool. And pimps are usually corrupt if a pimp is not the definition of a corrupt man.
When a person has no control of whether or not to have sex with somebody, this is called rape. In prostitution, they are both agreeing.
What he meant was that the prostitute is allowed to decline any client or quit at any time. Of course, this'll allow other more lenient prostitutes to be of more value to the Pimp.
Well then you should have stated your plans for the legalization. I assumed you just wanted it to be legal, and not change anything. Ignorant? I would like to see how your opinion of my stand on prostitution is ignorant. As I just said, please state your plans for the legalization. I assumed everything would stay the same. I do know peoples rights, and I know that its wrong.
Refer back to Telrad's post. You cannot force some one to do anything, especially sex. I am pretty sure making someone give part of their pay is illegal. Ever saw the Mafia movies? That's what they do, which is illegal. As for as abuse, if it is legalized, then prostitutes could report this and the pimps would be jailed. No one ever said that pimping would be legalized as well. EDIT: Then why do you assume that rap and abuse would be legalized, too?
It's ignorant because of what you said right above. It's pretty much implied that there would be other laws to treat it as a business. And assuming that nothing else changes, the prostitute is now allowed to run to the cops and report the Pimp for abuse. Make prostitution an actual possibility for a business and allow unions. That's it.
When did I say anything about rap, and abuse? This is totally oblivious. I don't see it ignorant for I could predict what you were trying to imply. No one stated such rules, so how should I know your stances?
Let's say you want marijuana legal for medical purposes, right? You won't go very far if you try to make some other illegal drug (that can't be used for anything beyond getting high) legal. If we are giving valid reasons for legal prostitution but not any for rape and such, then we are obviously just focusing on prostitution.
What you seem to be concerned with is the fact that pimps will effectively be controlling the lives of prostitutes. However, what many have proposed before is similar to a worker's relationship with their boss. If there is any abuse, the boss will be punished.
Eons your missing a very very import issue that would happen... Companies would move to this... because SEX ... Sells..and this would slowly more to a major corporations quite quickly...Check the Porn Industry alone...It rules the internet... Prostitution will only be moving that to a bigger scale... why ever get married ..? WHy Love a real woman ...let me just have her for a one night rent... instead... w/e... if it is every Legal .. I'll personally veto it..because its going to cause quite a mess but that is just me..
If you just look across the pond at Amsterdam's policies on prostitution you would realize that those policies do not allow for corporate explosion, an alarming amount of non-married couples, and people finding someone they love all the time. Denmark's suicide rates are only 2.1% and their divorce rates are only 2.8% (per 1,000 people)[1]. However, the U.S. has a divorce rate a full 3.2 points higher than Denmark[1]. This shows that America would be better off at preserving marriage by introducing prostitution! There is also a correlation between homosexual marriage and heterosexual marriage. Since the 1980's the marriage rates have sky rocketed (the decade gay-marriage was legalized) leading to an all time high in the 90's[2]! So much for Gays and Prostitutes destroying the sanctity of marriage, eh? 1. Liberator, Mark.
