The asymmetrical map that’s been from concept to Sketchup to concept and finally to the finished and completed map that’s known as Regicide. It’s been roughly a few months since most of you have seen the Regicide concept (found here) and the first thing you’ll notice is a bunch of changes in the playable map. The map was made with king of the hill in mind. There are five hills in cycle around the map and setting up becomes a way to win on this map. The most infamous way to hurt a map is spawning, but with thirty-four precisely placed respawn points, and with six semi-rooms to spawn in, testing has proven good gameplay with the spawn setup in Regicide Beta that some of you have looked at. I played a game or two on this last night, and i thought it felt incredibly fresh, but also had plenty of depth. I felt that i could position my team effectively, and that i could learn a lot from experience with the map. I felt that the sniper was placed well for both the holder and the opposition, because it was placed in a hard to reach location, that also had areas to fall back on. So it wasn't just a case of the sniper pounding the other team then him getting killed instantly. Instead he could actually get pinned down. I also got a nice triple kill, which makes it all the more better.
This is far better than Amp. I mean, this is the best map I have seen in a very long time. Amp is nice, but this is 3 times better. I really can't wait to play this. The map's design, gameplay, weapon and equipment placement are all epic. You have done a great job on this. In my opinion, this is feature worthy.(Mods, don't infract me because I am just stating my opinion. I love Regicide. 10/10.
Im personally discouraged in how this came out. The sketchup looked amazing and maybe thats why im disappointed with the foundry version. What I mean about being disappointed, is simply the flaws in the merging. However, the gameplay is great, escpecially since its asym. And im glad to see great forgers [like you] moving to asym. maps. Since now, all the MLG maps you see are based off great ones like Amp, Ons, and Lockdown. Please don't get mad about the first part of this post, because im sure you were trying to make a great playing mlg map. In that, great map. I've been testing, and haven't found really anything wrong with the spawns or weapon placement. A-
He's talking about blemishes in the geometry. When the two of us did a forgethrough of the map we found that there are bumps above the overshield room. Primarily on the box ramp going up and down. Also, when you walk over the wall corners you catch quite a bit of air. To be honest though, those were the only ones I encountered.
One stair in the middle that was merged at an angle was really crooked and didnt line up with the other one. Over in the corner at one of the flag spawns, there are merged boxes that are really bumpy and a bridge that has a gap in it.
Well, i must first start out by saying i am not an MLG fan, and i dont enjoy it. So i will probably wait and see if you're making a MM version, or if not, just give it a custom weapons tweak for my own custom games with friends. [no uploading involved]. That out of the way, i am highly impressed with the design of this map. It is so in-depth that it literally blew my mind when i first saw the design some months back. Clearly i have alot to learn in the designing process, because your use of ramps and wrap around design is significantly fine-tuned. I haven't gotten to play on it yet, but i will and give you additional feedback on it. [the unaltered MLG version].
Ill agree with THESILENCEBROKEN im not much of a mlg fan, but the layout for this is amazing. I to agree that the way you use your ramps is very good. i also like how every object placed on the map looks necessary, (tho im only looking at the pics) 5/5
THis map looks phenomanal. The interlocking looks great, and you have some new structures made out of geomerges. The main structures look very good, many ways in, different jumps to get away from your attacker. I will Definitely DL
This IMO plays hill better than any other mlg map out there atm. I do think that it could use a few design tweaks as sometimes either snipe tower or blue base become too easy to set up on, but the fact that you made a foundry mlg map that could actually have setups in the first place is a feat within itself. So other than re-working a few areas and spawns (they haven't been that great) its an excellent koth map.
Why is it that almost every MLG map has only snipers, rockets, brs, and carbines. I know they let you use Maulers and im pretty sure there are other weapons too. The map looks great, but i dont like the weapon layout.
The weapon set is larger than people seam to think they know. Other weapons like plasma pistol, plasma rifle and magnum are also accepted BUT they should have a tactical reason behind there placement, not just scattered across the map to add more weapons. Remember MLG is highly competetive gameplay, therefore your weapon placement needs to be really strong. As far as Regicide goes, it is definately one of the best designed maps we have ever seen from a forged standpoint. This map definately raises the bar for future forge maps to keep up. With mostly everything on the map designed perfect, i would change only a few things here and there. I can show you my ideas later Fritz if your interested. Too everyone else, say hello to one of the new maps for MLG v6. It's not official or anything, i can just gaurentee it makes the cut.

I'm glad first impressions of Regicide are good at forge hub and some kind words I really appreciate =] Today I'm working on twelve key changes to Regicide and the first update map file for it. About seven of the map tweaks are minor rearranging of geometry for cover in parts of the map. This update should be ready by tomorrow morning. MLG's Killa KC - gametype designer and game tester for MLG - should have a list of maps sometime this week of v6 testing for Halo 3 gametypes. So the earlier the new map file gets put into my fileshare the better it can prove good gameplay for MLG. After all my work for MLG with Regicide and forge I plan to make a MM version. I haven't quite thought of the top three gametypes for it, but should be fun none the less and offer more variety of gameplay.
why not set it up for all gametypes? item limit or do you just not want to set it up for unrecommended gametypes? ill be awaiting the matchmaking version.
Wow. This has a really great layout. The gameplay feels incredibly balanced, and the crossfire in the map is spot on. The wrap around structures a really cool too. I sometimes felt like I was playing on Guardian or Blackout. I just couldn't get over how great the map looked while I was playing it, and a lot of other people stopped and stared mid-game. I killed them as they did this. ^ Did a moderator seriously just double post?

Good, I was rather disapointed cause I had seen the sketchup sevral times down at the MLG site and though that it looked amazing. What foundry model do you use in sketchup, are you just keeping the best to yourself.
Just DL'ed and did a walk through with my buddy...no words describe the unmatched forging skills laid down in this map. With how every piece of scenery is either interlocked &/or geomerged, Regicide stands alone in its professional presentation.l The map appears flawless. I'll post again once I've played a few rounds with a larger group. Until then, SICK WAD fritzster
