Back when Halo 2 was still "in", me an my friends played the **** out of it. We would invite 20 30 people over and play in LAN parties. We had Xbox Live but the social interaction, trash talking, and throwing **** at each other was far better than online play. Anyway, the two games that we loved was Lockout shotguns or Lockout swords and Turf in Team slayer or just slayer. The one that i love was Lockout swords. I used to do the the dodge and juke my friends out all the time, and they would get ****in pissed. The game that i hated but loved was Turf. My two friends Kyle and Charlie would use the Plasma Pistol Battle Rifle combo with an ass stopping effect. They got me nearly every time....... those bitches. Anyways, what I wrote this for is to get some feedback form you guys about your Halo or Halo 2 experiences. Thanks
I used to love Halo 2. I would go over to my friends house every Saturday Night and play 4 player Foundation, and we'd be talking about awesome noscopes and stuff until the next time. I feel like Halo 3 doesn't have quite the same feeling, for some reason. Maybe we're all just older now.
I used to go over to my friend's house all summer long right before Halo 3 came out to play Halo 2 and loved it. We always played infection and swords and crap. I pwned in swords and my friends always used to get mad at me. I also loved playing Swat in Matchmaking. Good times. Good times.
I had Halo 2. And thats the first game I got Live for. It was hella fun, but the disk got damaged a year or so after the release. And I never bothered to play it afterwards.
halo 2 was the best, the maps were just so much more fun, We had lockout, midship, beaver creek, ascension, turf, foundation. Just amazing maps. Though in Halo 2 the only real spectacular default maps are Guardian and Pit. Most others are just mediocre. Also equipment i believe worsened gameplay. Halo 2 was just so much more fun overall. I also miss BxRs, BxBs, and DoubleShooting which i believe added versatility to the game
I enjoyed halo 2 a lot. My greatest achievement in it was beating it on legendary by myself. Me and friedns would play customs but there were so many cheaters in matchmaking it wasn't even funny.
I agree, Halo 3 is missing a lot of good stuff. I'm thinking of going back to Halo 2 for a couple of months or so. The maps the shipped in Halo 3 don't really have the "nuts and bolts" to make it better then the predecessor maps on Halo 2. Even the remakes for Halo 3 are not quite the upgrade. The equipment improved the game, but not enough (if that makes any sense.) idk, it just might be me but sometimes i wish they remade Halo 2. Multilayer and the campaign was the best, and i feel like Halo 3 doesn't compare sometimes.
halo 2's maps were just so much cooler than halo 3's. Ascension /vs/ Guardian Relic /vs/ Epitaph and also consider that halo 3's maps are in much less "wild" and cool looking settings. Halo 2 was aesthetics Halo 3 is gameplay when you think about it, that's honestly what made it that much better
My dad came home the day halo 2 came out and was like i got you something in my trunk. He had bought us an Xbox and Halo2 and thats when i fell in love. I mainly sucked when we first got it. But soon this guy plaed me one on one and i asked for pointers on nades ever after that i was sticken with my eyes closed and going GOD MODE on ppl. dont think im bragging i used to have mods and all. But we had this game called (o)(sniper)(sword)Aherdofmidgits(sword)(sniper)(o) and i would play me vs. like 4 or 5 other ppl and just own ass on the little tower... OH GOOD TIME
Dad When I lived at home I used to play the hell out of Halo 2 online with my Dad. I moved out and he never upgraded to the 360. He still plays Halo 2 like a maniac. He's 55. This is his Bungie Profile: Bungie.net : Bungie Online : Halo 2 Player Stats Halo 2 was great, but I haven't played it in over a year.
How is relic comparable to Epitaph? It's not really. I would think the most comparable map to Relic would be Sandtrap.
insome cases yes, but my team still owned you in ts on lockout and multi flag on midship, on Wednesday. lol jk I do like having a break and whipping up some halo 2, the lobby and message system sucks when using 360, but i guess i have gotten used to it. Still on subject, the reason halo 2 is much more fun is because you don't care when it comes to halo 3, you know everyone sees your medals/kills and rank, so you feel you start to panic and cry when you lose a match. my high skill sucks on halo 2, mainly because i can't get enough customs
Haha. That was my first game, and the two people you were with only play Halo 2. The two friends i played with don't even play Halo.x Halo 2 is more rewarding, and at the right times. Halo 3 has had too much of a random element induced.
CE/2 just had a different feel to them. They were back in the old style of gaming, they fit in with the awesome feel of games like PD and Goldeneye. Halo3 is great don't get me wrong, but a lot of the "mass appeal" they tried to pull off ruined the "gamer-only" feel of previous games. CE and 2 were completely different, but both had awesome maps and an overall more competitive feel. I can remember lan-parties on Halo PC back in grade 10. Installing it on a **** ton of computers, than we did it with the trial to. Godly fun.
I used to have LAN matches with my friends just about every day. I can't tell you how many times I play Headlong or the old Sidewinder. I really do miss many of the maps from Halo 2....there were very few I didn't like. I still miss Turf, I loved that map with a passion.
I feel very similar, DtL. I've hosted several Lan parties over the past couple years. We'd all take turns setting up our own gametype on a map of our choosing. It was awesome. Random on Foundation was always a sure-fit. I have fond memories of Turf, it made for some epic games of elimination. In fact, I'm having a LAN party and poker night on Wednesday. I hope it's a success.
Halo 2 was revolutionary from halo1, interms of gameplay, storyline, weapon sets, i could go on halo 3 isnt that different from halo 2, and they added some retarded aspects to it. halo 3 is also set up around live gameplay, if you hvanet noticed
Back in the day me and my friends also played Ivory Tower with Sword. God we would get missed when someone would hide and then sneak up on you and smash the back of your face in. I got to agree, Halo 3 is set up for live. Man i love the lan parties. there were 2 separate rooms that we played in and if someone got really pissed, they would throw their empty Dew cans into the other room. it was great. I think even a few fist fights even broke out. lol
