    It all started out when I saw a WIP from someone that was creating a map on Standoff and I was interested. When seeing the WIP I thought to myself I really feel like making a map on Standoff but really didn't have the urge to make one until one night where I went into forge and was just messing around. While messing around I found that after I geo-merged a fence box in the tree and the rock over at the Active Camo spot it looked amazing so I set off to create a map. Now this is completely different than the other Standoff maps out there considering it has lots of geo-merges and that flat and straight the only ones that are not are the fence boxes over by the "platforms" and are connected to the "side bases". This map took me roughly around 10 hours to create and over 5 hours of it was trying to fix a FFA spawn issue; This map also was being worked on over a roughly 1-2 months period.


    About the Map

    Now with this map I decided to go a different way than the others with the vehicle settings...instead of the normal warthogs I chose to put 1x Banshee, 2x Ghosts, and 4x Mongooses for transportation on Objective games. The weapons on the map are around the same variety but there is some changes. The map features two "side bases" which are also where the OS spawns and these can be traveled to by geo-merged man-cannons on top of the base (I've had the man-cannons geo-merged for awhile now). Now to the middle of the map, in the middle of the map is a tallish structure that is accesible by some grav-lifts but it is not used very much, and on one of the "platforms (on the side of the map)" is a nice looking structure that houses the Sniper Rifle, there is also a trip mine inside the open double box. The bases are the same etc along with other things...well same as in no new structures...all of the scenery is changed and move around so it gives Standoff a new feel to it.

    PS: The looks on this map is fully packed leaving you drooling over the maps aesthetics along with the gameplay it brings.

    This Map Plays best with 3v3 4v4 teams on; Team Slayer, CTF, King of the Hill. I also recommend that you put BR start on the map as it is a big map.

    Hey this has really nice potential gameplay and you evened the map out by adding the spartan laser. Nice job the towers you have on the map are very unique with the bridge going straight up its very weird but very cool

    well at first i was all like, NON FOUNDRY, great ill so not click on this, and then i was all like, Adelysssssss! oh hes made another map. ill check this out and see how it is. i reallly like all the geomerging youve done here, really makes the layout of the map alot different with the added highgrounds and vantage points. this map, blazes "step up" and probably satelite mise will mark the only 3 standoff maps ive probably ever downloaded, so you sir, are congradulated for that achievement. ill come back with my thoughts later.

    Wow very nice Adelyss! Looks great for vehicles too! I think I need to try this(i'll dl from ur file share over XBL not on the internet) and play this map! I love the geomerging which probably took forever because this is on Standoff and all you have are fence boxes and double box opens. Looks great still! 10/10

    this map shows the best forging skill i have ever seen on sandoff, i have never seen geomerging on this map, EVER! this is an amazing map, 5/5

    It's nice to see competitive maps being made on maps other than foundry. And managing to do it on Standoff? Wow this map looks like a blast. I'll definitely have to check it out.

    There are actually two lasers one in each base, I used to have one laser on the map in a neutral zone but I found that the banshee was way to over powering so I added a second one and gave one to each base.

    Haha just proves that good maps don't have to be on Foundry. Also I've yet to see Blazes Step up map but while I was working on this map I heard that he released one I'll have to check it out.

    The vehicles work great since they are not over powering with the two lasers on the map. Also yes the geo-merging was quite a challenge but I actually might make a v2 DEPENDS..and fix one or two of them.

    Actually me to, I've yet to see a map with it..but I'm also not constantly searching the map section on FH for them hehe.

    The gameplay is the best part about this map..yes the aesthetics help but if you get to play a game on this map you'll love it.

    i played on this before i have no clue with who but i did it was a really fun stand off map not saying stand off dosent already have good gameplay cause alot of people disagree with me on that but this map does definably deserve a dl because your special....

    May I ask what the purpose of the merged fencebox at the tree is? Seems pretty ridiculous and unnecessary. Surely that object could be allocated more efficiently to bolster gameplay even more.

    It adds a nice even platform, but i dont really see how that helps the gameplay at all. It does look really cool though.

    That was the geo-merge I was just messing around with not trying to do anything, and when I did it I was inspired to make the map. Its mainly there for looks but it does hold the Needler and it provides cover. It does affect the gameplay though.

    ok seriously i understand forging is fun and something to do for all of us but somthimes people like you act like you get paid for these maps i think its just fine were it is...

    fair enough.

    I'd argue the exact opposite, actually. I feel it kills the best aesthetic part of Standoff as it looks extremely unreallistic. To each his own, though.

    Adelyss, good job on expanding to the goodness that is non-foundry maps.


    EDIT:
    Easy there tiger, I didn't say he couldn't put it there, I said that there's a good chance that that object could have been used more effectively to have a greater affect on the map

    I remember the Beta, no wait, the Alpha testing on this map. It was pretty epic alright....I hope you fixed that centerpiece box, where you could get stuck...ohwai....you probably did already. Cool.

    This is truly an awesome map, plays amazing, I just love it....

    Hmmmmm for a non-DLc this map looks pretty good. But when compared with other foundry style maps this seems to lack somthing. It is much like a base wars map. The best part is the tree with the fence box which really is a nice sniper platform. It has a smooth ground soit doesn't mess up those pestyheadshots as well as cover for when your under fire.

    Yes I did fix that, I moved the one grav-lift and added one on each side.

    Well yes if you compare it to foundry...of course it does, but you shouldn't compare it to foundry considering the supply differences. I have yet to try using a sniper on the platform I'll have to try it when I get a chance.

    Nice map addy, i had lots of fun while testing this with you, hlg, red, RPAL, barcode, and many others. I like how the banshee isn't too overpowering in this, and yet there aren't to many powerweapons. Did you fix the spawn problem you were having with this? either way, good map, 5/5. Nice interlocking, epic merging, and winsauce weapon placement.

    Nice map i had a great time testing until you let the extra guy on your team stay just so you could win the game... but whatever i got back to back triples so im fine haha.

    5/5 this is really the best map ever on standoff i recommend it to anyone who likes to diversify their team slayer of ctf experience
