You may have guessed already, but this thread is about circumcision. I don't want my child to be circumcised, many parents do, however. What is there reasoning behind this, does it help humanity as a whole to undergo circumcision, and why would god give us foreskin if we humans, of obviously much more intelligence, would just remove them (kinda screws up the whole intelligent design arguement)? You might know my answers to these already but I'm curious as to yours.
Well, evolution could be why we don't need certain things in our body anymore; maybe Adam and Eve needed that little extra protection.
It's just Jewish tradition, but I have no clue why they even started it. Don't mean this to offend anyone, but an uncircumcised ***** hurts a girl more...
Haha, I wasn't arguing for creation with that. You just used Adam and Eve as your topic, so I ran with it. So it's more like, early humans needed that extra protection.
A valid arguement. Certain diseases more easily infect those uncircumcised and the opposite is true. Disease seems to come at a steady rate no matter what the status of your foreskin is.
There's accually medical reasons for it being cut off. Like less chance of getting STDs and cancer. Proof
Wow. This statement has to win some sort of internet award for pure ignorance. It's not just a Jewish tradition, and there is no way in the world that an uncircumcised ***** would hurt a woman any more than a circumcised one. All your statement proves to me is that you've yet to insert tab A into slot B. As to circumcision itself, I argue that it's an outdated practice. Hygiene might have been an issue that propagated its initial use, but modern society is a little cleaner now with the advent of indoor plumbing. Sure, women may find it weird looking to have a turtleneck on your johnson compared to an army helmet, but whatever.
Squidhands post takes some of the thunder away from your post but your STD and cancer remarks are still quite true. One must remember, if she has HIV or any other STD, you will get it if you don't use safe-sex practices, circumcision has a very, very small role in preventing disease.
I'm sorry I was incorrect. I heard that somewhere and thought I would throw it out there. And you're right, I have not "inserted tab A into slot B", but that's because I'm 17, not 35. And I do not personally know how it feels, because I have not had tab A inserted into my tab B. Maybe you would like to inform us how it feels. Next time I will not contribute an argument like that. OT: It originated as a Jewish tradition. When Christianity formed, the Jewish-Christians carried this tradition over and it was continued. When most of Europe was converted to Christianity, this practice continued, and that is why there are many men who are circumcised.
It was practiced in Ancient Egypt before Judaism and there is evidence it was occurring before any civilization.
Who knew you can accually have a conversation about circumcision. lul But to contribute, I have never heard or seen anything about the foreskin hurting the girl, but there's accually nerves in the foreskin that gives the guy more sexual pleasure.
Yeah, I'm not sure where I heard it. Whether it was from a friend or some sort of media, I'm not sure. Circumcision today, though, is more of tradition and a cultural practice more than anything else.
Just thought I'd let y'all know, Females are also being circumsized. I'm not sure what the tradition/religious reasoning behind it is but the fact of the matter is hundreds of girls are dying from it. Google it. I don't want to, the pictures can be pretty sick. The kind you wouldn't want to think about when with a girl.
