It was kinda cool they did this but I didn't win it. It doesn't matter, I'll be getting it next fall.
I feel like that's kind of lame...they didn't do any work whatsoever. More marketing ploys...sadface. I assume it's another publisher thing.
I liked it when it truly was a rarity on xbox live. When you saw it on someone, you knew they truly did something special to deserve it. Ah well...
So you had to have bought the maps at the discounted price and play in matchmaking with them last week? So the cheap skates (well, the cheap skates/sensible people will have waited for them to become free. I guess these are the mid-skates) who bought the maps cheaper have been given a chance to get Recon... awww. What does this teach us? Never to buy stuff at the full price! Wait til it gets cheaper and you'll be rewarded! Haha!
I personally don't play halo i just look around the forum and rate maps but halo kind of sucks it is really boring. The only reason their giving out recon next fall is to buy there shitty game its all a shitload of crap they do to make you buy it. Bungie personally i think sucks. Halo was fun for a while but now I know it is just ****...
It's a campaign and map expansion, and it's natural for any company to try to make you buy a product during an economic slow-down. And they're not giving Recon out, they're giving everyone the opportunity to get it.
Yeah, we shouldn't be overreacting, I'm just saying I don't really like the idea of giving it THAT randomly. We still don't know the details.
The Recon giveaway had nothing to do with our publisher and anyone who played in a Legendary Required list in the pool of potentials was included, whether they bought it day one or waited until the week of the discount.
I guess it makes sense, a lot of people don't have it and really should...it's definitely the best map pack for H3 so far. Also, we have no idea how many people its been given to...my guess is somewhere around 100 (which seems like an awful lot), but that's all pure assumption. It's good to know its not a publisher decision though.
You know, recon doesn't even look that sweet. Sure it's somewhat rare, but a bungie flaming, thats another storie. Even if I got recon, I think i will stay with my ODST.
Myself, I think it's pretty good looking. It's a nice set of armor, just like everyone that plays Halo, we all have different selections of what we think looks cool. For instance, some people love their full Hayabusa; I can't stand it. I like straightforward angles that feel like they belong together, I use a Mark V head with EOD body, Scout shoulders. Though this is totally besides the point, the thread is discussing the Legendary Savings, not the armor itself, so back to topic.
Not even close to 100 sets were given away in this contest. People who claim that Recon has gotten prolific would be surprised at just how rare it is, even a full year out.
