A grifball stadium on Avalanche. Recommended with "Grifball" (obviously). Supports assault, oddbal & slayer. I have alos made a couple of quick oddball games to use with this map or any other map you to play it on. The game varients are Laserball & Swordball. FFA Slayer types are also fun. Made by Nicksternater. Download Winter Grifball!
This looks pretty cool bro. It'd be a nice change from playing in a warehouse *blegh*. The only problem I see is that you would have to raise the walls on all sides so that the runner doesn't get launched out by some divine miracle (there's one every 5 Grifball games, it has been proven...). Well, I'll surely be playing on this bro.
well yes it would be miraculas(dont know how to spell) if the ball runner can somehow jump over a 3 story wall. but yes anything can happen. & btw thank you.
this is a really cool concept, but see if you can take it to the next level by having the same dimensions as the foundry GB league, interlock, and make all of the boxes a single colour. This does offer some nice change from the normal GB square. EDIT: continuing the idea about changing all the colors of the boxes, you could do half red and half blue boxes, on each teams side!!!
This is the first time seeing a goofball stadium on avalanche it seems very bumpy but thats what makes the map even more fun to play on very nice job great map!!! I love it!
Its called "Grif-ball" not goofball. Now about the map. It looks like a good change from the blandness that is foundry. But a few things could be fixed. Try interlocking the boxes just to give it a smoother look, and use the "no rainbow boxes Guide" to make all the boxes the same colour. The link to the guide: Here Took me forever to track it down on forgehub for you.
Considering this map is just a box built for a premade custom gametype, its very unimaginative and not very creative. You haven't even got the bomb spawn in the middle (see the first screenshot) I think changing the box colours, like macpatterson said, would make it a bit better. Also, if you merge the bottom layer of boxes with the ground it will make all the above layers much neater. It'll take time, but the end result will be much better.
This map looks cool but i would interlock your boxes other then that looks good ill dl and see how it plays
The forging isn't too great. The map would have looked so much better if you geo-merged those boxes. Oh and this is NOT A COMPETITIVE MAP.
thi has ben done before comparde to his this one sucks. but i do like the idea. your seens smaller the foundry though. mabey if you make it bigger and more pleasing to the eye then youll get a lot more downloads. by "pleasing to the eye" i mean interlocker and geo glitch/merge
Yay, more snow! (I am now shivering because I realized the fact that it is 15 degrees out makes my basement cold, so now I am going to retrieve a jacket.) I like this idea, very festive. Would look better with interlocking though =\
thts NOTHING compared to this. LINK sorry i couldnt find the actual thread (idk if there even is one). anyway. lots of players would be mad cuz the ground is uneven. plus that could cause the ball to unfairly roll. but im glad its not foundry
stop flaming him, jesus. i think it's a great idea and looks good. i agree maybe half red and half blue or something, as well as geomerging. stp criticizing him for no reason. at least he had a good idea, if only an ascetic change.
Actually, there haven't been that many flame posts or people criticizing for no reason. It's true, there are better Avalanche Grifball maps, they are better because they have features like straight walls. Most people are suggesting (with their criticisms) that, because making Grifball court basically involves make a large box, he be more creative to make his map stand out. Spending time on the aesthetics of the map (colours of boxes etc) will help him do this. There's a limit to how much you can review a large box...
Well, grifball has been twisted and turned a lot of times here on forgehub. It was mostly when grifball first came out, but since that was a LONG time ago, I don't expect anyone here to know much about that. I like the fact that you aren't actually changing the game, and are just trying to do a different terrain. Maybe the size is a little off, but meh, that doesn't matter. The roof is one thing that I think should be added. People will easily get out no matter how high it is if it doesn't have a roof. You could always add some aesthetics by interlocking, glitching the box colors, and adding pictures on the walls with teleporter lights like you see so often now, but It's just an opinion. EDIT: lol yeah this isn't exactly a competitive map.
I agree, it would be very nice if Bungie would have a Double EXP weekend sometime this month and we can play on an arena like this. Although even though there a many barriers, I still think that it can be escaped facing the fact that the bomb guy has low gravity and the others have hammers. But its still a good idea. Good job.
You should have several games on it just to test and see if you may be able to get out. But any ways its better than just playing in foundry. I rate this map a 5/5
