Gears 2's reign short lived, Halo 3 tops Xbox Live list

Halo 3 truely deserves to be on the top of the list for multiplayer. It is almost a completely multiplayer-based game and was mainly intended for multiplayer. Gears 2 favors in it's campaign more than multiplayer, however it has an excellent multiplayer as well.

 

The only game that's ever properly taken over H3 was COD4 for about 3 months after it was released, but Halo will always reign and end up on top.
It's the only game I'll truly always come back to.

 

It's the only game I've ever come back to. Usually I get bored of my games and sell them within a month or two.

 

GoW2 is a good game. However, there are glitches that make players invisible, have a shotgun out with the shield, and super kung fu flips. It's irritating and why I came back to halo3.

 

I agree, Halo should be on top. The multiplayer is excellent and I play Halo most of the time I'm online. CoD 4 was good but I don't play it nearly as much as Halo. Gears is funtoo but I like it for Campaign and Horde. That is the way the list should look (maybe swap WaW with 4, waw is only high cause it's new)

Same here, I played COD 3 on the PS2 and tried the demo for COD 4. I hated it. Maybe because it is so different, and because I heard it is really repetitive.

 

Halo 3. 1 year and still kicking ass and taking names. Ataway to go Bungie!

 

Halo 3 is a good game to pop on if you're bored, there are a lot of things to do.
Lots of features like Forge, Customs, four player online Co-op; It's a kickass social game.

 

Yeah, I played whatever version of COD it was that they had running on the demo pods when the 360 first came out, thought it was kinda cool.
Then played COD 4 on my girlfriend's bro's PC and it was kinda meh;
Halo 3 FTW, bring on H3: ODST

 

It's because Gears 1 multiplayer > Gears 2 multiplayer

 

These games are hard to be compared. Halo 3 defiantly has the more competitive gameplay, more varieties of gametypes and maps, and is overall more based across multilayer. Although on the other hand, Gears of War's 2 Horde mode is one of the funnest gametypes out there, and the story line kicks ass.

So both games have incredible aspects, but in the end, I guess Halo 3 just has more variety.

 

I'm pretty sure the reason CoD isn't number 1 is because the release of CoD 5 essentially split the community in two.

 

i own both, and love both. i get the best of both worlds.

 

Own both of what? Call of Duty 5 and Gears of war 2? I own both Halo 3 and Gears of war 2. I don't really like Gears of war 2's matchmaking so I only play it for it's Horde and campaign.

i hate CoD.

 

I only liked call of duty 4 modern warfare for a little while, but other than that I was never really a fan of the series either.

 

CoD went down hill when they basically sold their soul for mass appeal. They destroyed mostly what the game was about and attracted all the biggest douchebags ever to hit gaming. Almost everyone gets bored as **** of that game, and thats why it's not number1

Gears is awesome but the glitches and the changes just make the newbs and the hardcore 1 fans annoyed. Halo3 just as the most to offer. It really was the GOTY when it launched.
