"The Spire" "...2 shall enter, 1 shall leave..." Welcome to "The Spire", a ruin left many years in the past that used to determine who was dominant amongst all the others. Now it is your turn to challenge those to battle in this small ancient ruin that suits a 1v1 till the end. "The Godly Spire" also used as a starting spawn area. The top right portion of "The Spire" on blue side. Bottom Red The floor is made completly out of walls merged together... this simulates a clean geo-merge and it gives the bottom portion of "The Spire" a cool design. Looks pretty impressive for your first map. Interlocking is quite clean and the roof is clean too. The gameplay looks good for 1v1 games but it looks like it is hard to do the spawns since it is a small map. Did you make sure your spawns are correct? Anyway good job.
Many tests were put into the spawns with plenty of success... if you kill someone they will not spawn in front of you. They will spawn either completely opposite of your location a bottom or above floor spawn. Spawn camping was rare in 1 v 1 games. If anyone is to encounter such a problem I'll add more spawns and tweak.
The gameplay in 1 v 1 games are quick and fun... the small amount of space combined with few hiding spots, and the spawn system that spawns you just far enough from your enemy (You'll never lose time looking for someone due to multiple open paths to resting areas, nor will you ever get spawn raped) , allows for intense and decisive BR fights on top, and strategic maneuvering and finishing one shots on the bottom. There are even Pallet platforms floating in each corner for those who like to defend their side(Where the sniper comes in handy). The map is inescapable, so there are no worries about that. There are only 4 weapons on the map (BR,SR,CSR,BR). Strategic Jumps are also scattered around this map(Jumps are fun). Upper areas are able to be reached by simple stairs or (If you can find them) hidden ledges to help get you back to the upper spawns. I will post more later on how gameplay feels... DOWNLOAD the map and find out if you are curious.
The map looks good but I don't really like the door and the stair things. Also do you have the pallets set to instant respawn, or can you shoot them and make the other team lose a platform? 4/5
I was a little iffy on the stairs myself... the testers didn't point it out as much of a problem, but it will be a definite fix for v2. Pallets = infinite respawn Would you have found it more interesting for the pallets to not respawn?
Hmm this map looks very aesthtically pleasing with really nice potential gameplay the only problem I can point is is cleaning up the double and single boxes outlining the map. This map is very nice though great job with the interlocking, and the tower in the middle is a nice feature to the map Great job
Sniper... BR... Grenades are what brought out the balance in this map. ()()XxX~~ KEYWORD: BALANCE~~XxX()() Glad to see that people are enjoying it... (MS PAINT LOL)
Hey dude it's wreked the map is good and it's pretty fun playing 2v2 or 1v1 only part I don't like is the door and I never found any hidden platforms to jump on I guess all keep looking :/...Anyways 5/5 its not like any other 1v1 maps its pretty original thats why I think this map is one of the best!
I just noticed that I uploaded the wrong version of "The Spire". This is the Version before I added weopon placement... Fixing now...
nice map, it's pretty fun for 1v1 or 2v2. the merging looks great, there are a few little problems here or there, but otherwise very pleasing to the eyes. i think you should possibly 'expand' on the spire, possibly add a little ledge on each side and possibly equipment/weapons/etc. placed on the ledges. the only major problems i see is that: 1)this seems to be one of those "a base at each end, and something fancy in the middle" maps. 2)the boxes around the border are a little sloppy.
