Disturbed showed me this yesterday, and its absolutely amazing Great work guys on finding a new forgetech!
yeah, I just tried this out because I thought it was a joke... it works...I'm not kidding...great find dude...
Though I'd put this out there... This would be an easy way to put vertical barriers in the back rooms of foundry without any hassle at all.
O.K. I have some things I want to say. First of all it has been said that I am not the one who discovered this... When I discovered this I showed it to two people,"I AM DISTURB3D" and "GD BlueDevil" and told them not to tell anyone until I had posted it, but one of them didn't listen and told three other people. Second of all, you can merge a wall, bridge or any thin immovable object with the floor; I edited the post to explain how. And finally, thank all of you for your feedback and support.
I think I've done the floor merging before on accident, but just thought that my game was messing up because I didnt know what was happening. Great find man.
Now that floor geomerging, that is even better than what you originally had. Much easier to do that having to brace everything.
I just tried this technique today and I gotta say, it's my new way of geomerging and interlocking. It works absolutely perfectly, and I'll be sure to use the ramp idea too. A lot.
WOW! You've got to be kidding me man. Something THIS BIG was just found out? It's amazing. I mean, this means you can make merged ramps so easily, every map will have them now. This should be put into forging 101, and maybe on the front page.
this can be used anywheres. I've been screwing around with this since you found it, and you can use it any wheres, but you need to use two people to really use it. you can geomerge with the floor. how? simple. Lets say you want to merge a wall slightly or a lot into the floor. spawn the wall, and flip it upside down so the spawn point is on the top of the item. now, get it all straight like before, and without rotating it, hit the thing off of another spawn object to make it spin or have someone else spawn something and smack into it to make it spin, then once the wall is horizontal, lower your wall without rotation. Save and quit and it works just like the corner did, your spawn point will arrange it perfectly straight. sorry no pics to make the definition easier.. ill work on some if they are wanted. obliviously its still not usable with EVERY item, but its making merging a heck of a lot easier.
You do not need two people for this to work. It has been done with only one person before. I did it and I'm sure many others have too.
Awesome find, great stuff! Lol... I wondered how you did those so perfectly. At least, I think it was you. Anyway, I see through your subtlety =P
Wow bro, this is amazing. On my first time trying this, I did about 20 merges that would have been nearly impossible without this method in less than 1 hour. Nice Idea.
I know you can use only one, but just saying having a second person for on the floor makes it a lot easier. or just pawn something with an angle to move your object closer to the floor.
I get what you're saying. Yeah you're right, that would work pretty well. It would make for some more accurate geomerging.
Been there done that!!! I remember when you showed me this the other day!! You said you weren't going to post it though. You said you couldn't get objects into the ground though. How did you do it?
Yeah. you have something shorter to nudge the edge of your object against, then it just starts twisting. then just push it as close to the ground, but it you tap any angle changing stick, it wont work and the angle will be reset. JUST saying, this CAN be done with the floor that way.
Just read this on the MLGpro forums. Original post from Nasty: I'm not around my xbox now (dammit), so someone needs to figure this out with the double box ramp and post how to do it.
Finally! An easier way of geomerging that doesn't require doors and braces and ****. You should become Respected for this, this is awesome! I'm surprised no-one discovered this before...
