Geomerging without doors. discovered by me. This will allow you to merge a wall, box, or any immovable object into the map geometry without the use of a door. How to do it? Simple! All you have to do is follow my simple picture tutorial. First! Spawn the object you want to merge. Then! Rotate the object the way you want it. Put it up against a flat wall if you want it perfectly straight. Then! Push the object past the corner or wall you want to merge it with. Then when you have it where you want it; save changes, quit and restart. NOTE: You must NOT touch the right trigger when doing this as it will change the rotation values of the object. Notice the teardrop is past the corner that I am merging it with. Finally! A perfectly straight geomerge without using a door. Notice that the teardrop is still in the same place it was when you saved it, but because you didn't touch the right trigger while you pushed it past the corner the rotation values were reset to your previous rotation. YES! You can also merge objects with the floor but only if they are thin like a bridge or a wall. Examples: As you can see this trick works pretty well for making a ramp from a bridge. Just remember to get the angle you want and then after you got the angle perfectly; LET GO of the right trigger and push the bridge as flat on the floor as possible. Remember your trying to get the teardrop as close to the floor as possible. You can also make a ramp from a double wall by doing the same thing as the bridge. But, for merging a wall straight up you might want to stick with the doors because as it may work a little the wall has to be either upside-down or on end and doesn't go in very far. If this doesn't help check out my Video Tutorial on YouTube. -------------------- Thank you all for reading and happy forging!
Wow. I can't test this, but if this is real then we are all idiots. This is so much simpler than any other technique that I can't believe it wasn't found earlier on. Congratulations man.
this an epic find.I find it hard to believe noone found this before.now just find out how to make unlimited objects and we'll be in buisness.keep it up
I can't believe none of us figured this out yet. Nice job man. I'll be sure to use this technique when needed to reduce the amount of frustration I have when forging.
Wow great find. Like spectacular find. But it won't work with merging objects in teh floor, seeing you can't get the teardrop in the floor. Unless I'm mistaken... If it does work I'm sure this will get a front page story in a while.
I wonder if you can interlock by using this technique by having lets say a box, push the wall past the corner of the box and bam. interlox.
Ah, I never thought of that. I feel pretty dumb now. Great find. I think this also explains those rare occasions where I place something, do a save/quit, and I come back to see it slightly merged into the nearby scenery.
Wow I would never had thought about this before and now that it has been released it makes me think that I could have found it and it was so obvious but who cares . Nice find
Ive heard of this but was told not to tell anyone. XD lol your a nice guy to tell people about it though.
So you're saying he really didn't find it? Because it does say he found it. No offense man, as blaze said its a great pleasure for you to post it here but it may have been found before you. But you were the first to bring it public...
This looks like it works but it doesnt work like regular geomerging does. I've known about it but it just is not perfect and doest work down ward or into the walls of foundry. And like it was said before its crooked so it wont be as straight as normal. You cant control it as easily as normal. You cant get that exact amount that you need it just goes in.
Can you put a video tutorial up? I can't really see what you're doing... maybe just a video clip to download would be good. Thanks.
