You'll be lucky to know that I have already played on this map so I can give somewhat of a good review. The structures that you've created on this map are very refreshing and better constructed than some on maps that I have seen recently. It all looks very professionaly made which is a bonus anyday. As for these structures, the interlocking that you have used to connect them has worked very well. With the usage of it there are not any real bumps which makes gameplay nice and smooth. Geo-merging hasn't been used excessively which is always best. Providing different levels of gameplay always spices up the match! The highlights of the map for me is the Attackers Secondary Base and the main walkway. You are never really that safe while in the area, but you do have a commanding position. Grenades and BR shots are a target to you but it's still good fun risking life and limb to get a few extra kills. Movable objects have been used to good potential on your map. They are not everywhere but come in handy for a little bit of cover here and there. As for your vehicles, the mongoose is a gimmicy one =]. It can help sometimes (especially well coordinated team games) but it also leaves you as a sticky and bullet magnet. The ghost was a good asset to add as it has offensive capabilities too but the placing (as thesilencebroken has already mentioned) isn't the best. Even removing the sheild doors in that area would make it a lot more manouvarable and fun to ride around in. It still seems a bit too overpowering and I will go onto that now... I can see that as you have used vehicles in your map, you haven't placed much cover on the ground floor and to me, just a little more needs to be added. I can see where you were coming from with the lack of it, but ghosts aren't meant to be too overpowering. With a little more cover, you may just be able to balance out the two factors. Your weapon choice is a good one that fits in well with the environment of the map and I don't think needs to be changed much. I would maybe add 1 or 2 more carbines for a bit more variety - but that's all. I'm not such an expert on spawning but 1 or 2 times I did appear right in front of my opponents, giving them an easy kill. I won't be able to give any tips here except to read this guide on respawn areas. There may be another one but i can't find it... Overall, this is a very good map - better than a few that I've seen recently but I'd like to see a few changes made. For now a 4/5. EDIT: Finished post.
alright at first glance this map looks freaking (yes freaking) awesome. But if you look closer you can see that this is very sloppily done. first the defenders ramp leading to the crosswalk is 1 not interlock and 2 crooked. second of all the attackers base looks rushed. the slanted wall on the top is crooked and the shield door is useless on the bottom as you can throw a nade left or above it. The ramp on the secondary attackers base is also crooked and un-interlocked. Basically it looks like you focused too much on the advance structures, leaving the ones that should be easily made perfect, neglected. Apart from the structural architecture, the design is a bit flawed as well. To name a few the Spartan Laser on Foundry...really? No, not really. Also the structures leave way too much open space. You need to fill them up with a few strategically place entities. It has a hell of a lot of potential but needs a hell of a lot of improvement. note that this is based solely on your pictures.
Despite what everyone says, I don't think this is nothing more than an amateurs with interlocking. Sorry dude, but I'm a harsh critic. As you can see, the shield door wasn't strategically place, leaving only one way for the ghost to get out. There only looks like one base. Meaning that that would be the hotspot of the map. Everyone would try and get there, and everyone who was there would rule the map. The outside of the base is way to open. You could kill a guy with from any part of the map with just your BR. Another thing; the BR would rule the map also. While the map is wide, it's not wide enough for a ghost AND mongoose to be in. As far as looks, you're on your way to great looking maps. I love some of your interlocking, and the objects aren't just messily placed. You have great potential Mace, but you still need to work on it. 2/5
thank you very much for the review, thank you for the spawn guide. even though some of it looks crooked, and bumpy this map is actualy insanley smooth. there are vitrualy no bumps due to the fact that everything is level, example the ramp. the connecting piece to the defenders base looks bumpy but its level with the topof the ramp, making it not bumpy also, the spartan laser is the only power weapon and its only there to act as an anti vehicle weapon, which it is in the first place. i may replace with rockets to lower the amo count yes i have to agree this is kind of harsh. " don't think this is nothing more than an amateurs with interlocking" may have been unneded. anyways as stated numeruous times, in a soon-to-be-released v2, shieldoors will be taken out, more cover added, and the map will be filled in structure and cover wise ohh and btw, i cnaz geomerge also, which i did to a very great and useful extent on this map
well, well, well, mace. youve finally posted ur first map, took you long enough! jesus man, lol jk dude. well, youve done very nice on this map. very much interpl0x as much as geopl0x, and a ton of asthetics and a great layout. i love the name of the map too, very original, but tha doesnt really matter. anyways my favorite part of the map has to have been the little bidge/elevated walkway you made outta walls, it was very good for ambushs, to pop down on an unsespecting victim. also the sheild door works out fairly well, which i thought was gonna ruin the map, since i think most maps that use sheild door suck, except very few. but it accually did quite well. very good job on this one, 4/5. P.S.: i cannot wait for Protoplast, the pics in the sneak peek look kickass, from those pics, if it was ready, it'd be one of my favorite maps, from them its about a 6/5!!!!!!!!
