This is so cool, I made an avatar that looks just like me and me and my friends gathered in the new Xbox LIVE Party Chat and played different games. This is way easier to navagate now, such as when I'm in a chat with my friend and I need to go check a message, I get out of the chat then go all the way to get back in the chat, now we don't have to do that anymore! YAY! I would rate this a 5/5, what about you?
Glad to see some love for the new dashboard. I hear alot of complaints, but most are hollow. It's new and takes getting used to, but within an hour I was just at home with this one as I was with the first. It gets a 5/5 for me mainly because I haven't experience any flaws, and any improvements they made feel like they should've been in the Xbox to begin with.
I really like it. But I got a feeling that they were try to rip off the wii alot with the avitar thing.
I'm getting really tired of hearing people say the Avatars are a Wii rip off. It's not like avatars are exclusive to the Wii. You see them all over the place on the internet. Maybe I say that the Miis are a rip off of Yahoo's Avatars. It's not like Nintendo was the first to come up with the idea. And, the Xbox avatars differ on every level from the Miis
I like the installing games feature. You can play the games, without the noise and the disc wreak. I don't care about the reducing/increasing loading times though. I just don't want to have to buy another game disc. Like........GOW. The Xbox Live party thing is so cool. Not only can you chat and stuff while your playing a game of different games. You can share photos, watch movies, while you talk. I also like how whenever you press the middle button when someone comes online, it still goes to the dashboard utility instead of going to the persons personal page. I think it has lots of flaws but it has a lot of potential, and could be greatly improved. But overall, great new dashboard. EDIT: And the notifications as well. As stated by Shatakai, very nice feature.
Oh, another great feature I love is how the notifications have more detail this time around. Like, instead of saying someone invites me to a game, it will say what game they invited me to. It's these small changes that really make the new dashboard feel 10x better than the first.
agreed, now when I get gears invites I don't even have to pull it up to make my consistent "decline" answer.
My friend was telling me his Live is slow now. Is that an isolated case, or are others having issues too? (I haven't gone on Live yet.)
This is probably just because the new dashboard is fairly new and a lot of people are all downloading it, causing the servers to run slower. Give it a week or two and it should run like it used to.
Hmm. There have been a couple of threads like this but I think the new dashboard is better than the original one, however it's not the greatest thing ever. I'm very interested in it but it doesn't make me drop my jaw.
The new guide is beast too, it hardly slows down anymore and theres a **** load of features now on the guide, it's WAAAAY more useful now.
