Halo 3 Recon goes open-world

I tend not to say that Bungie is doing -insert crazy exaggerated rant here- with a unreleased game, but I'm pretty sure the copy paste multiplayer will be exactly the same as Halo 3's with the addition of Heroic, Legendary and Mythic map packs and will be able to play with both Halo 3 disks. Also, if Kotaku says it, I don't doubt it!

 

so will the other 3 maps(heretic,citadel,longshore) come wit Recon?

 

please dont speak to me like that. i could very well be wrong, but you guys are getting hung up on little wording. if im wrong, so help me, ill eat my words and admit defeat.

CASE IN POINT: This answer is NOT about disc swapping.

The person asked very clearly "If I download the new maps, will they work on Halo 3?". The answer, while not totally addressing the question, translates to this:

"If you buy it from the new maps [Assembly, Orbital & Sandbox - due late February] from the marketplace, they will be the same as if you downloaded them from the disc for Halo3:Recon."

It clearly says NOTHING about being able to play multiplayer from the Halo3:Recon disc. When you've got solid evidence, please return to put me in my place properly.

 

First of all, thanks for posting this and informing us about this update. Second of all, I read this, and well the fact that you are slower, weaker, and smaller is dumb. Some people might like it, but I think the reason Halo's campaign is so good because of Master Chief. He's that super strong, indestructible dude. The fact that he, pretty much single handedly, can destroy the Covenant. Although if they are going to make it so that you are a weak ODST Trooper, then that won't fit with the storyline, or game very much. And about the "New Weapon," well, as Bungie has done stupid things like this before, I think they are going to make this "Silenced SMG" way too overpowered. I think its going to be a combanation of the BR and SMG, or maybe an AR. So I really am, but at the sametime not looking forward to this update as it may be the last straw to completely ruin Halo.

it fits perfectly in with storyline.its during halo 2 when da chiefs off fightn the events in the trailer takes place then if u remembr u play a level as the Chief and goes baCk tn New Mombasa to fight

 

Hello? It's just a regular SMG with a silencer on it. Nothing else is different. As far as we know.

 

ya that guy was overreacting i agree wit chrome

and i also fail to see how a single weapon could ruin a game. There are other weapons in Halo if u havent figured that out.

 

If there's no shields then bungie is obviously gonna tweak the gameplay. And for halo 3 recon overall, it looks BADASS

 

Of course. They wouldn't let no shields go by with regular damage resistance. they're up the resistance a bit most likely. Mybe so it takes like 2 BR headshots or something. You kno what would be cool? If you could edit the gameplay settings so you can add shields and ****, kind of like in Halo 3 with the skulls but with additional settings.
