Hey I'm using a mac and i downloaded google skechup and the components thing, but i think i'm missing something. i have the foundry base layout, but i can't find the componets. could some one help?
Window > Components It will open a popup window for you. There are the components, I hope you can figure your way after that!
I was thinking that maybe someone could start a tread were you would summit a plan for a map that you either don't have the time for or that you don't have the skill to make and than other people could make the map.
I think Bungie should make something like this but a special program and it can be uploaded straight to your fileshare on B.net.
im confused everytime i try to rotate o bridge the whole level whacks out and i then have the floor sloped and all screwed up please help!

It would make forging all the more better and If we had the textured version we could find the center of the map using the original graphing that is on foundry. Plus, It is kind of a pain not knowing the ledged and the extra sides on the top of Foundry's locations.
This is what the forging community really needs, and i think its awesome that you've done this with such great accuracy. However, it boggles my mind as to why you'd release the items to put in foundry and not foundry. kind of defeats the purpose to me. I dont think ill use this much honestly because i go so heavily by the grid on foundry's floor. I think long term this will fail if you continue to withhold the most important part of it. Thanks anyways.
Hey dude, he released it, look at the outline where he put the objects: its foundry, but majorly rough. It kills me that he didnt release the one he used in his Regecide Concept though, the FULL foundry, with windows, everything. That foundry is what we REALLY need. This is like 2/3, since objects ARE a lot, and he DID give the regular outline of foundry, but nothing more. Look at his concept: its flawless!
The space that the objects are in is completely out of scale. It's worthless designing a map in that area. Just move them over to a blank space and do your design piece by piece.
*facepalm* you are supposed to SPAWN them Matty, using the components window. He just put them all there to show they exist, and what he put.....
Matty is saying that the "foundry" he put the components in is horribly inaccurate. The pieces are all fantastic, but they will merely be used for designing small sections of things. I know whats included, ive already downloaded it and used it a bit. I was expressing my personal feelings of how unuseful this is to me without the foundry template. I dont see his reasoning in NOT releasing the whole package.
Then I don't see the reasoning why you guys can’t make your own foundry in Sketchup. If it is so out of scale, which it is not considering only 2 people have attempted this before, then discontinue using it. It is a tool for conceptual designing, go back to pen and paper if you feel the need to complain about what I offered to the community. Boggles my mind how the accusing of being selfish are those that are already selfish. Stop being so dam lazy and watching other people doing the work and give up their work for free. This seems to be the trademark of a typical online gaming community. Unbelievable
Personally, im not being selfish. If you don't wish to share it, fine, so be it. However, if it was me that had it, I'd share the whole package, not just half of it. The program is difficult to use. We dont need to "offer" you a good reason to give us something you have. Dangling it over their heads and then yelling at them is lame. You've got no reason to hold out on the foundry design if you've released the components... in my eyes, it is merely to hold yourself above them. Dont like my opinion? wont hurt me, i dont hold you on a pedestal.
