I'm in the mood for a fancy reply because i cant stand anybody using the word "disappointed" for this game. Annnnnnd GO
hahaha isnt it set up pretty much exactly like halo 3? The menu and matchmaking is pretty much the same. I bet you're just overly used to halo 3.
I agree with this, it could use some work. Going into matchmaking alone is something i avoid. Although, the matchmaking is instant when you have a party of 5 ready to go.
    You got bored?!?!?!
They were pretty much the same as the first, nothing groundbreaking. It didn't need it.
Well said review. Mr disappointed in awesome. heh.

It is ten times better up until the end, which is ten times dumber than the first. I remember the final battle against Raam at the end of gears one. It was intense battling him and staying in the light. Gears 2's ending was just stupid. I felt that epic rushed the end of the game too much. If they hadn't then that could have been a few more hours of gameplay, but they cut it short in a retarded manner.

I loved the campaign except for the New Hope facility which was a pointless trip. Also the end, of course. It felt like the start of the campaign Marcus and Dom were inconvienenced by the Locust. By the end it just felt lucky that I ended up sinking the Hollow. Don't get me wrong the collasping building and the brumak were fun, but I would have rather spent more time battling it out on my own two feet than getting "lucky."

Does anyone here have horrendously long matchmaking waits?

I loved the last part from a cinematic point of view, but playing it was definitely lacking any sort of challenge or even thought. The skorge battle was sooo much fun though. Nothing awesomer than tapping b like a mad man and dodging pillars. The reaver riding was fun, defending jacinto was epic, and the brumak riding was ****ing great. Idc how easy it was lol. "control the brumak just like you would Marcus" -i came

I prefer to think of the very last part as a little interactive cinematic, it wasn't stipid if you take the entire last parts as a whole. Pulling out the one little lambent brumak part and judging the ending isn't ideal imo.

The real ending will come along with Gears 3. Just wait all.

Also, the New Hope facility will have its importance in the future i'm sure. It really got me pondering when the locusts started breaking into the place, so it couldn't have been pointless. That whole part was great though, it provided the scares the rest of the game was lacking.

Well if you come into this thread asking us to help you choose, then i'd say your recommendations will be a bit biased. GEARS OF WAR 2 >>>> CODWAW

    COD is lame. [/discussion]

The facility was actually - dare i say it - my favorite part. They are expanding the story, and getting deeper. They raised questions about that part, and it was semi-scary at times. It also felt to me a bit like the resident evil games, which i have always been deeply inlove with. The only part i didnt like at all was the mini rover tank on the icy cliff. It was more irritating actually.

    COD WaW = COD 4
    COD WaW = $60
    COD 4 = $40-$50
    $60 =/ $40-$50
    COD 4 > COD WaW
    GOW > COD

    The choice is obvious

What I got from the mission with the Sires is that scientists created the Locust (hypothesis). Right? Or did someone already say this?

The menus could have been a bit more streamlined, but I can deal with them. Like Chuck said, if you have a full party then matchmaking is quick. But I hate the lag and everyone shotgunning and chainsawing the whole time. Horde is by far my favorite thing to play.

Oh yeah: CoD = a big no.

    Great math I must say...

Once again, I ask if anyone else here has a hard time finding a match in matchmaking

If you go in by yourself, then you will have problems. A full party is ideal, or else it is slow. They also need to reduce the shotgun's range.

Completed Gears 2 co-op round my mate's house today, one of the best story modes I've ever played- if not the best. Online multiplayer is a ***** to find games though.

For those of you that have completed Gears 2: Cogs of War 2 (contains spoilers btw)

Knight, just invite me when I'm actually on gears lol. You always invite me to a game I'm not playing :p With a party of 5 or 3 it is usually quick, going in by yourself or a party of 4 takes for ****in ever.

As for the ending, skorge IMO was the final boss, and a good one. The Lambent brumak was more of story, than any sort of fight. The new hope place, uber important. Almost all of the actual story of this game comes from the collectables. The three I got from one chapter on a new hope are the three most interesting in the game IMO.

Oh and for gears vs CoD...I got my ass outa bed at 8 am with only and hour and a half sleep to go get my gears limited edition. CoD WaW, I haven't even picked it up yet (I pre-ordered both).

You can't compare Saints Row to Gears of War. Two completely different games. I hate Saints Row, though.
