This is pretty cool, I like the bumpy hill bridge things, those are pretty cool, especially with a ghost. One thing I dont like is having two ghosts on the map at the same time. If one team takes over with both ghosts it could be extremely fatal. It might not be so bad though, this is your map so make it like you want it. It has a pretty good concept as how most maps have the teams start caddy corner or directly across from eachother. Now they start on either side and must get around that wall so it seems like some pretty interesting gameplay. Good luck with the Atlas submission and good job on a great map.
Thanks Zombievillan, and to all the others who posted. Believe it or not, even two ghosts won't do that much. They are easily destroyed, and even more easily hijacked. They are really used as a temporary push to try to pressure the enemy, and help get to the flag. There is more than enough to oppose the ghosts, and they usually do not live long.
An awesome map, overall. The structures are amazing and look beatifully forged, and i bet the gameplay is awesome due to the 8.3 part of the title. Great job, it should get featured
Thanks, glad to hear you like it. The only reason I didn't leave it at V2 or V3, which was probably aesthetically better, was to improve gameplay.
very nice map, interlocking is smooth, idea is good, weapon placement is good, idk about spawns seeing as how i haven't played it, but overall, nice job. this map reminds me of a map called The Great Wall, i think that its by Lintendo, but i'm not sure... thanks for taking the time to photoshop those images to have descriptions, now i have nothing to worry about when i click the download button
I've played the Great Wall before - gameplay here is very different. One large wall is pretty much all that's in common.
I still can't believe I haven't gotten a game on here yet, Nevz! Send me an invite next time, cause it looks real fun. Good luck to ya in ATLAS
Lol thanks Lights. And in the right thread too! I'll send you an invite any time we're playing, and I NEED to see Land Grab on Helvetica. I better be careful how I word it.. "Land Grab! Land Grab!" might make some kids want to leave to find a fatkid game... XD
I like the idea of "natural cover" with the hill structures. It has an open feel without being indefensible. One aesthetic complaint is the interlocked sign A's in one of the pictures. They just look kinda funny (it's like the 11th picture down). But nice map overall. (4.98/5 lol)
Wow nice post. You did some photoshopping with the pics and you even included gametypes as well. Only thing lacking is a video but its okay man, this is epic win already. I love the interlocking and the structures but I don't know; I just have this feeling that in some places its kinda open. Well, I will download and look around. Nice job!
I'll take the 4.98, lol, I tried to create a map without constant walls and barriers for cover, which actually don't always provide solid cover, and I built the cover right into the map. BlackOu7, thanks. I may include a video when render to video comes out, otherwise I can Gamevee the gameplay videos right in if you like.
How different is this version Nevz? (Apart from aesthetically?) I've obviously played the previous versions with everyone from H3C, but haven't played this one. Any chance we could all play it sometime? EDIT: I just noticed I was the first one you thanked at the bottom Haha, sorry, but BRAGGINGGG RIGHTS!
This map looks very well set up, I havnt said this in a while but I really think this map should be featured. The post is excellent and makes the map seem so professional. I would love to play this with team doubles as well. Nice job
Any time Sam, the major changes are to the sniper tower, the new wall obviously changes the entire map, and the arch provides a lot more cover than expected. Eguitarplaya, Doubles is a bit iffy, it usually plays well for doubles, but I wouldn't want it in MM Doubles because of the possibility of one team getting both snipers, or both ghosts.
I'd gamevee the videos instead capturing them. That adds realism to the video, and it might convince shishka to pass your map. I would love to play this in Squadbattle or some Social Skirmish. Consider moving the sniper to an area with less cover, and to promote movement.
Actually, Shishka watches the films from scratch, on his 360, so he gets every point of view. But for the sake of this thread I'll gamevee a couple test games. Like I've said before, take a look at the Sniper towers, there is no cover. Most of the time, knock his scope off with a BR and he moves quickly.
The one thing I enjoyed about the older versions of Fissure is how even if one team managed to get both sniper towers, they could both be taken out pretty quickly; It wasn't as if they were invincible and could easily reign terror on the other team. Do you get what I mean? Obviously haven't played this version though. If I'm on tonight, how does getting everyone together for a quick match or two sound? Also, from the pictures in the original post, I miss the middle fence box! I'm so used to old Fissure, that seeing a load of double boxes in the middle as opposed to the old fence box at the top that I used to tea-bag made me cry Haha
Yeah, I mean, other than a window panel that won't block off your entire body, you have no cover up there. You better be a quick shot, because if someone lays down a few BR shots, you're defenseless. I will not be editing this map unless Shishka declines it, then I will go back to the drawing board (Where I have a few ideas to improve it), along with cleaning up the wall.
Yeah, that's exactly what I used to love about playing this map! I hope we get to play this some time soon, I was annoyed that I missed the actual test game that was recorded, I would have loved to have seen this first hand with everyone else there, oh well. I'm looking forward to seeing Shiska's reply!
