Once again, I have been motivated to move my mouse to the web address and type in bungie.net. Recent Screenies FTW! [ROBOTIC GLaDOS VOICE] HELLO, AND WELCOME TO THIS TUTORIAL. haha that was good ya good tut I never thought anybody would but something on here like that. it could be helpful for people and I might put something like this in my next map
wow this is amazing i tried doing something like this but i tried geomerging it. the problwm was that you could see the turret but it was unusable
My question would be does this work with other vehicles and the normal warthog? Having a 360 degree turret could be useful as well as say a chopper style turret.
Probably not with other vehicles. Most likely works with the normal warthog. Might work with containers instead of double boxes. You see, if it was a chopper, then the guns would be stuck inside the double box.
That is what I figured but I figured I would ask the guy who discovered it since he probably is the most knowledgeable on the subject.
That might not be true. Especially if the discoverer is me. Just like how Galileo isn't the most knowledgable about the revolution of Earth and the Sun, I might not be the most knowledgable about the Gauss Turret Glitch.
True, but I am baseing the arguement off of the fact that you likely experimented with the technique and may have tried other vehicles. While you may not know everything you are certainly more knowledgeable then me on this subject though.
That's so incredibly usefull, it's insane! Finally a way to have turrets that can't be ripped off. Can you get into the driver or passenger seats though? I know you can do that with mongeese and turrets through boxes at least. And of course, the 'Hog can be blown up =) Which may actually be a plus side.
I know a little bit about this, The only two vehicles this works with are the warthog and the gause warthog or obvious reasons. I like to make it so the turret is near one of the ends of the double open box so then when you you get off you just hop out the back. I wouldn't say you are the discoverer though because someone showed me the idea a couple months ago.
There are lots of people who know things, but they don't reveal it to the internet. They sometimes show it to their friends, but most of the time they might classify it as useless and not reveal it. I've known about this for a long time, but I've recently had my 360-time restricted, and I've started to spend time on FH, and am now contributing to the community.
That's terrible. If you wanted to make your map actually look good i suggest using the other methods for a Gauss turret.
I would also like to know these other methods. But anyway, this gauss turret stuff calls for a sweet gimmicky map. I'm thinking a symmetrical, two forts kind of map with gauss turrets at the front of each base. There would be counters to the turrets on the map but the warthogs would respawn fairly often. I would play it, what do you guys say?
I wonder how well this merges with our knowledge of how to geomerge movable objects... EDIT: I think Y35 is suggesting that this method be used in conjunction with other methods such as interlocking and geomerging, though I may be mistaken...
If he is correct, then geomerging might not work, although I don't understand what he geomerged (the box or the hog?).
i geomerged the hog and it is unusable but i may find a way around this just give me a minute or by a minute i mean a couple days to try out some other methods
