I know it says pictures coming soon, but just a warning that they need to be up in 24 hours or this post will be closed. Also change the name of the post to just the map.
Oh no no no no no. No "pics coming later." Those come now. If your map isn't up to forgehub standards, and SOON, then it will be locked. Please be sure to take the time to familiarize yourself with the way things are run around here before posting. I'll find you the posting template, just give me two seconds and I'll edit my post. EDIT: Got it. Link below http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-forge-maps/3000-map-posting-template.html This might also help you, if you don't know how to embed your pictures. http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-forge-maps/18644-embed-screenshots-your-map-thread.html
Settle down everyone , if he hasnt got it up to standards, woyldnt it be helpful to instead criticize him but to tell how to make a correct post or ask him if he has any question about FH
I couldn't help but notice this. I just think that it's humorous the way you lectured him on an unfinished post, but then said that you would get the links soon yourself. I know it probably didn't take you that long to get them, but if I need to do something like that, I open a new tab and search there. Anyway, I don't want to repeat what other people have said, but I just have some friendly advice. If you make a thread like this, where the pictures are supposedly coming later, you are just hurting yourself. If the pictures aren't up in time, you might get bumped off the front page by other maps, drastically reducing the amount of views your map recieves. Also, if someone clicks on a map with no pictures, it is likely that they will just back out and never look at the map again, even if the pictures do come up later. -Aitius Oh, and welcome to Forgehub! Don't worry about this, many new members have this same problem. I've come to think of it as a hazing ritual.
I give it a 'horrable' because that's just plain a hilarious mis-spelling, and because there's really no interlocking whatsoever. It kinda looks a little like a Piñata of an undead donkey fetus. Sorry, but it's really not all that great.
Srry to say but, i have friend whose never forged b4 on halo 3 and he can do a bettr job. If you wanna make it look cool interlock the boxes to give it a smoother, cleaner finish, go look at some " how to "s on FH about interlocking 4 if you don't know and need help.
Hmm... I have some suggestions, which you can listen to or not. I do, however, think that if you take these into account, they may help you... 1) I would check the Forging 101 section. This will show you not only how to get your spaceship to float, but also how to interlock cleanly and help design the map. 2) In addition to my first suggestion, keep in mind that this an aesthetic map. This means that whatever you are creating should try to resemble what it is in actuality as close as possible. I think I can say that many people may comment negatively on how it would be hard to guess what the ship was, not having known that it was a ship. 3) By putting the word "awesome" in your title, and then saying in your post, "Plz dont get mad if its bad its my first spaceship", is sorta...well...it means that people are going to judge more harshly if they DON'T find it to be awesome. I think its risky for anyone to describe their map as amazing or awesome, no matter how good or bad it is. 4) From the pictures, it is hard to tell what certain things are. The most immediate example is in the hornet landing area, where I see two teleporters next to each other. Things like this may really confuse people, as well as the really random weapon placement (maybe you made an armory or something, or you wanted the weapons in the ship to appear that way). I'd like to see the interior picture, which isn't working for me. Overall, I hope you took my post into consideration. As a member of ForgeHub, and for you being new, I am trying to be as respectful as I can. FH has high standards, but with these standards, you will only improve as a forger. Take what others say about your maps in a positive stride. (Sorry for typing so much. =P). EDIT: I've read a certain member's post on this thread that I must say is very unconstructive and ignorant. I'm not putting this individual in the spotlight, but I would highly recommend that you change it...please.
too me this map looks very sloppy and rushed. Don't post a map until u know people are going to like it. Show it to your friends first and see what they think then post it on forgehub then will see how it goes from there. 2/5 from me!!! Sorry....
argh it sucks eggs. learn to float and merge before you make a ship, look at my ship unsc battlestorm if you want to know how it should look. and also you cant spell. >=(
dude. he is probably a brand new forger! I made worse maps when i started forging. Give him a break! Same with you D4ni3l G! I bet you i can forge better than you.
Hmmm... I wonder why I know people who find us at ForgeHub to be inconsiderate asses. I also wonder why I know some underrated amazing forgers on this site who want to leave because of how unfriendly the community is. Y'know, I think that this thread demonstrates something really important. I think something needs to be posted on the front page of FH, so that we can realize what the term "warm welcoming" is. I'm being completely honest when I say this. I believe the author of this map has been taunted, insulted, and embarrased, quite frankly, because of this thread. It was his first map, and he is clearly a nice person, based on his comments, and such. For those who have commented, I'll state something a little more direct this time. There is a difference between, nice, constructive criticism (which isn't necessarily lying to author, saying that his map is great when it may not be!!!), and being a childish asshole. Wow...if this were to have happened to me when I joined FH, I don't think I'd still wanna be a part of the community...would you?
I'm sorry ,but it looks sloppy. You should have put it in the air. It would look neater and flat. For floating(if you don't know how) you have it where you want it, save the map, end game, and restart, and it will be floating. Stacking up, and the deleting works, but maybe not the best option with Avalanche. Nice try though!
Stacking up is fine on avalanche as long as you use the clear blue ice as your starting point. Like this...
I agree with JSlayer7. Many people on this forum wonder why so many people leave, and then they are ignorant to brand new members of the forum. It's just like starting at school I suppose. If you went in to the playground and somebody started abusing you after you said one sentence, that'd make you feel really bad. Well think about how new members of ForgeHub feel when they are subject to this level of humiliation. I for one, do not think it is that bad for a new forger. I must admit, it is sloppy compared to some other maps, but if you just take JSlayer7's tips, you'll become an a amazing forger in no time at all. I would rate the map about 3 out of 10, based on the effort you must have put into this, but also due to the lack of neatness. Sorry if this seems a bit harsh but that's just my opinion. However, most of the comments that have been left on this thread I would rate 0/10, if that. But mekool, don't be phased by the haters on ForgeHub, just focus on the people who give you constructive criticism and advice. Sorry for typing alot, I just wanted to express how I flet about this thread. Thanks, Monsta Masha.
Just downloaded - and you know - it aint that bad. There are some nice touches. You have put some thought into the way things are laid out - you have just not taken any time to do it. Why didnt you put a picture of the ship? The pictures are mostly of the ground base, the actual ship does float and is positioned near the cliffs. Its not wonderful but is an excellent first effort. Try some interlocking and take your time, i look forward to seeing your next map.
