Ya personally I think the weight should have been lower from the start. I believe you should get 1 weight every 100 rep.
In like, August I saw a guy with 6 posts that had three rep bars. He had joined in August. I just stared at it for a moment, and then decided, meh, and turned the other cheek.
Also i think it has to do with the amount people give out rep. Because I don't give out rep at all and i just hit 2 bars. Also the colors names and people you brightgreen rep bars seem to get insane amount of rep very fast.
I'm really sick of this, too. I was looking at a thread and some kid who I've never seen before has 4 bars of rep. It's out of hand. I might just disable my rep...I don't even support it anymore.
the only ***** in the plan of that chain is that u have to give like 15 people rep before u can give the same person rep, and u cant give excessive rep in one day i think that's wut it is right now. my bar just went up over 100
My rep is actually really high for being at my rank I believe. This is just because I make good posts, have good grammar, and started one of the biggest contests going on right now. The Premium team vs. the Non-premium team is a cool contest and I have received rep from Premiums and non premiums alike. They are all very well known forgers and have a ton of rep themselves, so I get more rep from them. I actually like the system though, because I feel like I am getting noticed more than before, but that is also a downside for newer members because they won't get noticed quite as much as members with high rep.
I think the rep system works fine because even though people with huge amounts of rep give more that makes sense. They should know how to act having all the rep, and should be able to reward it. As for rep whoring if the mods can see where you get your rep and it looks not legit give them a infraction.
He has a point. You rep a lot faster from having well thought, intelligent posts that garner +rep from Loyals, Premiums, etc. All those fancy people with huge shiny rep bars. If you have some stupid little 1-bar friends give you rep all the time, you won't get anywhere as fast. And if you still make stupid noobly posts, enough people are gonna -rep you that you will stay about even. ESPECIALLY if you say something stupid that bothers a high-rep user who -reps you. That's the definition of "toilet rep".
ya, rep has definetly gotten out of hand. i just saw a few people today with more rep than 4 bars and have less than 100 posts! i havnt even seen some of those people! now i dont care much for rep, but im really wondering what in the world is goin on here. rep r retarded.
I don't really care all that much about rep; I mean, it's nice to have, but I wouldn't miss it if I lost a bar or whatever.
I would really like to see rep disabled for everyone. If you look at most of FH's problem's, they usually revolve around rep. I don't care for rep anymore and I think I do not deserve the privilege of rep since I abused the system. Something needs to be done though, I do not know what but the whoring needs to stop before it gets worse than it already is.
For people that view rep as a popularity contest, disable there rep. For people that ***** rep, disable there rep. Problem solved. For people that don't abuse rep, let them continue to use rep.
I thought I would bring this up, I just saw a person who has 30 posts with two bars of rep. I think this is becoming a problem.
What i dont think helps out much is the rep power. I mean, you have someone like Nemi, Linu, or myself rep you and your already up to 100 I think there should be a cap limit, and something different to determine rep. Having like 10 bars is too noticable and gets out of hand quickly, if there was something such as a black bar, that gets brighter each time you go up. Then it wouldn't be noticed as much, and everyone would be equal.
What I don't understand is how they get rep so fast after so little posts. Do their friends give them rep or do random people just go around and give the max rep everyday?
Well some new members join the testers crew and probably test maps a lot getting rep from members in that clan. or high reppers are just repping them
Well sometimes I am just roaming around the boards and I see some cool person who had a good point so I plus rep him and WHAM! he gets two bars. The thing to solve this is lower down the rep powers I think
how the heck could he get two bars extra from you, when from me, I used to have 85 or so rep power............word... Oh well, I do see some lower members just repping each other as an alliance...but that usually bites you in the back like my avatar shows...
