The day I saw this game I was astonished- first at the beautiful graphics, then at the adorable graphics, then at the fact that it's a 2d platformer, and finally at the fact that it's level editor is immense.
I don't currently own a PS3, although my Wii will be gone within a week to fund my purchase of one. Is anyone else going to be getting this game? If so, what's your PSN account, I'll add it so maybe we can play together.
Yes, I know this is a halo board, which means most likely someone will flame me for wanting a PS3. Don't- I'll ignore you completely.

I thought this game looked absolutely amazing when I saw it. They are pretty much putting the hands of the game in the user's. If the content we create is good, then the game will be good. I honestly don't think it's worth $60, maybe $30-$40, but don't be surprised if you see a few "Little Big Planet Hubs" within the next few weeks.

I don't have a PS3, but if I did, this would be somewhere near the top of my "To Buy" list.

I kind of think that an expansive level editor should increase the price of the game more than premade levels. This shows true for halo- what do you spend more time doing- playing the standard maps, or playing user maps? For me, it's about even
Now, think to LBP, where the user is going to have even more power- the game may not have much content to begin with, but it's going to have more than you can possibly play within hours of the release.

I'm not in anyway saying that it isn't worth $60. I suppose that is what I said before, but I was really saying that I don't want to pay $60 for it. I would pay $60, I just wouldn't want to :D

I just saw a few nice videos, and they blew my mind. I know a lot of people are like, "OMG SO CHILDISH NOOD", but if you think about it, games like that are usually great. Ratchet and clank is a game made for the younger kids [ i guess] and its amazing, and c'mon, when i first saw castle crashers i was all like "wow, little kids game".

    [/random blabbering]
There will be so much user created content, and thats what draws me in. Any game when you, the gamer, can create your own content, well, it just makes it a whole lot of fun. I mean, how awesome is it when your playing a map you made, and every one loves it.

Nobody does- especially in my personal state of financial crisis. I have calculated that after selling my Wii, if I buy the 3 big xbox games coming out soon (Fable, Fallout, Gears) Plus a 360, I will have around $-20 left. :(

I am sad this game is for PS3, and really, short of legal, and the fact that the PS3 can "handle it better than the 360" I am questioning how this game will fare? Xbox has a larger consumer base, as well as a wider range of users, from creative to avid FPS gamers. The PS3 on the other hand, is geared mainly toward competitive gaming, and most people who play PS3 love CoD4, MGS4, Resistance, etc. (I know, my friend is a PS3 fanboy), and I question if people who play those games will at all be interested by Little Big Planet?

I think that anybody willing to play games will take a look at LBP and enjoy it. In my opinion, atleast, it's very hard to dislike. Yes, people may say that the graphics are too childish, but look at the other side- LBP has the best graphics that I have ever really seen in a game. With the basis being on user creations, I doubt that a hardcore gamer will have trouble finding near-impossible tasks. In my opinion, if they can find a way to create a commercial or trailer focused on the [difficult and varied] gameplay aspects instead of the customization, they will attract a large portion of the hardcore gamer crowd. They don't really need to make commercials targeting the casual gamer anymore- who the hell hasn't seen the other 50 trailers?

This by far is the best game the PS3 has ever come out with. Definitely worth the buy, otherwise you're wasting your PS3.

I'm not going to buy it though, and I'm not going to buy a PS3 either. (A PS3 runs the equivalent amount of power to 4 computers)

Am I the only person so far in this thread that has a PS3?
It's a pretty good console, but the thing is that it's lacking in good games at the moment.
MGS4 was good, as well as Warhawk. Multiplatform games look better on the PS3, but I'd rather have them on the X360 so I have a better multiplayer experience.
LittleBigPlanet is one of my most anticipated games this year along with Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3.
I feel that although LBP only has 60 pre-made levels, we'll begin to see millions sprouting out within the first week.

Currently I've been all over the web trying to get hold of a LBP Beta code, so if anyone could try to get me one, I'd be so grateful!

    =)

G4TV is doing a drawing of 2000 beta codes on the 3rd. Go to g4tv.com and you'll be able to find the submission page somewhere on there.

Still, bad market making it a PS3 exclusive. This game almost seems centered around user created material, which would mean sharing your creations with one another, and I couldn't think of a better online system than Xbox, being a larger market. But oh well, hopefully my friend gets it, but I doubt it.

The problem with making it for the xbox is that microsoft's online policies would make it extremely hard to content to be shared well. Microsoft doesn't let many games (N+) have any kind of content sharing at all, and ones that do (Halo) have tedious restrictions.
Also, they are a tiny company, only 30 people work there.

Got my PS3 yesterday :D. I didn't get into the beta, sadly, but I sent an e-mail to MediaMolecule yesterday begging to get in.... I doubt it will work, but it's worth a try.
