The Maintenance Starts! As you know, everyone was kicked off xbox live. Why? Because they are just doing some maintenance. According to xbox.com there will be some new "My Xbox Features" I believe that a part of it will be the new Xbox Dashboard they were talking about a while ago. Does anyone know any new rumors or anything about the xbox live update?
I don't think you will see any visible changes. They are doing all the technical improvements so they can release the dashboard update easy in the near future.

Yeah, we'll just need to be patient. I'm interested to see what it is. Although this Live Downtime may give me a good opportunity to forge without any distractions.
i hope its over soon... cause i dont know any thechnical difficultys in the system, nor do i care for newprofile updates, i just want to play halo. well, might as well forge

Wrong =D That's not happening till a while later. (According to MS) I'm not sure when that actually dashboard update is happening but it's soon. This is just a pre-cursor to the update. Although, I have heard rumours that Xbox.com just said this to, I dunno, **** around with us? I heard that when it comes back up we will get the 'Xbox Dashboard Update' screen. Though this is just a rumour. Chances are, however, that it's just maintenance to allow the update to happen smoothly at a later time. I personally think that the odds are that we will see the Dash update when it comes back online... Time will tell =]
It's not just a face lift. It's actually an update for some serious issues that have made the Dashboard slow. For example, when you sign into your Live account most people will get that slight hiccup thing where it sorta freezes for half a second while it signs in. Yet another issue for people who have downloaded a tone of Arcade games, I have 150+ arcade games on my 360. They take quite some time to load. The update includes faster loading times for the Dashboard. Oh and another one, you can copy your bought games to your HDD, faster loading times, longer life span on the games (If you don't have to read the disc there is less chance for scratches.). Although you still need to have the disc in to run the game. Like a boot disc, once you start the game you can take it out. Or leave it in, whatever =P Uhmm what else... There's a HUGE amount more that the update includes that has nothing to do with the facelift. So sure, if you want to have an inferior product that loads slower and can not handle huge amounts of information and loads slower in-game, then sure, don't plug your internet in.
but i want to do matchmaking, i donk care about loading times or anything, i just want to play MM, i dont use arcade-games and the loading doesnt really annoy me
Which is also being improved in the update...? I can't see how an update like this would be bad, but hey...
Reyn, Just ignore it. Don't start and whos right and whos wrong contest. jk sorry but as Scarfac3d and Reyn have said its an update so that when they are ready to release the NXE it wont **** up.
