Well this is it. I have finally posted Hotzone. The map took me about 20 hours to make. I would like to thank GD Blue Devil for some of the ideas like including the needlers. I'd also like to thank bl00d FIR3 for the idea of the secondary bunkers. Please note there is a secondary tunnel. This map is meant for symmetric gametypes. Have fun killing each other. Hmm from what I can see from the pic you used just the one side of foundry which is really cool and original but I cant really determine what the map looks like Looks cool tho
i like the map and how you used it, just using the tunnel side of foundry (which is usually the part blocked off) but the map looks like it is lacking a little bit. it looks like it is just the tunnel and 2 bases, nothing much in between, no cover, secret rooms, extra paths. just a hallway and bases on the end
This map is okay looking, a little small size wise. I really can't believe that this took you 20 hours to make, maybe between 10-15? I mean, the Bunkers might have taken two to three and the hallway isn't super unique. The concept would be great for CTF, as the flag carrier would get caught at the choke point and the flag would just sit there for a while. 4.5/5, add some jump access to the Bunker if there is none and jump access to the abnormal part of foundry (the hallway portion fenced area that you can't remove.
Looks like a good map. I'm glad some people are starting to use the back section of Foundry. The only thing that I dont like is the pictures. I can see only some of the map, you might want to add a couple more pictures to help people understand what the map looks like. 4/5 good job.
I like how you changed the normal layout of most maps to something different and unique. I mean using the other side of foundry. In most maps, I usually see either the right side of foundry or people using the whole foundry. I never really see the left side of foundry only used for gameplay. As for the map, the beginning interlocking and looks very well done and clean. The thing I like is how much gameplay would be in that tunnel, that would make it very chaotic and a lot of fun. looks pretty good nice interlocing, butif you hit hte dumpsters you can get out when they disapear you can get up ther by jumping on hte bridges also how do you get that that part of foundry?
looks like a really good idea... i no ur waiting for this comment so brace urself... more interlocking.... there i said it lol.... nice job tho... it looks like a good layout... maybe a few tweaks here n there would have helped... but it looks pretty good... i think this has lots of potential... nice weapon layout... it seems pretty good... nice work 6/10 thats above average:>
This map is a keeper and a loved testing it with you. The map layout is fun and interesting, I never got spawn killed and this map is one of the few that I have ever seen that puts good use to the back room. Not once did I get spawn killed and I found that both of our doubles games were very enjoyable. It would be a nice touch if you geomerged the open boxes. Many people (including me) find those bumps annoying and they destract the gameplay. That is my only complaint. I recommend this map to everyone on FH, this will stay on my hardrive for a while. Just geomerge those boxes and it will be a perfect 5/5
Review of Hotzone: Layout: First off, the layout of Hotzone is one of my favorite layouts; the two bases connected with two tunnels is awesome. I've played a map similar to this by HalfBrian, and seeing this layout again pleased me. From sniping down the long tunnel, to sticking people in the small tunnels, this layout is one of my favorites. Gameplay: Gameplay went fairly smoothly. I loved sitcking people in the small tunnels and someone stuck you down the long tunnel at the beginnning of the game too lol. I enjoyed sniping helpless noobs down the long tunnel and sticking people in the small tunnel as I mentioned in the layout, so I don't have much to talk about in this section. There was a small lack of BRs in the long hall, which I was looking for. Durability: The map was unbreakable during gameplay, and it would take a couple minutes to move the obstacles out of the way, but impossible during gameplay. Spawns is the only thing to mention really. I spawn killed Waylander one time in the middle room connecting the two parts of the small tunnel. I don't really know how to fix this because I'm not the master of spawns, but in a v2, get someone to help with that minor problem. Overall: Overall, the map was awesome. I felt clostrophobic at times, but that's ok lol. The two base layout with connecting tunnels is perfect. Great job with Hotzone, and I look forward to testing Ice Breakers when I get back on Live. 4.5/5. What to improve: -Add another BR or two in the long tunnel for better long-range battles. -Geomerge small tunnel for smoother walking/gameplay if you want. Not needed, but recommended. -Possibly make the walls of the small tunnel a little smoother, just a little, good corners though. -Fix spawn issue.
