Chrome is built off of Safari's rendering engine, but it mimics FF in a lot of ways. And many of the so called 'features' of Chrome can be made to be changed in FF's about:config page. The entire 'Incognito' concept has actually been used by a FF extension long before Chrome was released. As well, you will find that while Chrome is faster, more streamlined, coded better, it's open source. Which means that Mozilla can (and will) use designs from Chrome to better Firefox.
Chrome, although interesting, is yet another example that shows that Google is spreading itself too much. They are setting up too many projects to be able to be handled effeciently. Orkut, a social network owned and operated by Google, is fairly unpopular compared to other social networks such as Myspace and Facebook. From a 2007 study, Orkut ranked 14th in US Internet visits.

Another example is the failed Google Videos venture. It was so useless that Google shelled out $1.65 billion to purchase Youtube.

Basically, Google isn't concentrating on what should be their main service: as a search engine. Microsoft has offered to buy Yahoo for $44.6 billion earlier this year. If they keep this up, they'll end up like Netscape.

I don't get that last sentence.
But basically your entire post doesn't really make much sense to me at all.

Google is worth so much money, don't you think they would hire new people for certain projects. It doesn't make sense. What you say would make sense if there was as et amount of people split up into the seperate projects, but that just isn't the case. I kind thought, of all people, you would have figured that out.

I understand that goggle videos didn't do too well and some other projects sure, but that doesn't mean all of their projects will fail and it certainly doesn't mean their existing ones will get worse. To say something like that is just ridiulouse.

Eh, I tried it, but I still like FF much better, and I'll be sticking with it for a long while.

chrome seems to freeze up constantly and doesnt play nice with videos at all. i do love the layout, the homepage, and the the way the address bar actually pops up the website you want instead of some random page on the website

(for example: i type in "bu", and chrome suggests "bungie.net", while firefox suggests "bungie.net//332423r/php/OMGWTF/49r0owerwouerf")
