I have the biggest problem with new forgehub members. I think the only reason they come here is to get downloads. They post their maps before even knowing how to post a map! When I came to forgehub hub 8 months ago, the first thing i did was check to see how to post a map. I mean there was a sticky thread in bold letters saying "How to post maps." I believe that by doing that, it would make me less of a problem and less of a noob. You should really checkout the casual map forums. New members are just posting away, not knowing what the rules are to posting their map. I've just looked at the forums a minute ago, there's this one member who doesn't know the rule about posting his map. He as 2 threads about the same map, but only that the other one is an edited version. Everybody knows that if you edited a map, you put the edited version in the same thread, you don't make another thread. I guess if he had read the rules first, he would know that he isn't allowed to do that. He also "accidentally" posted a thread about nothing onto the forum as well. Take a look at all the bad posts by BAMFthesenior in just one day: Casual Maps - Forge Hub Halo Forums I know forgehub has already address the problems with these members about their "spamming for rep" but they will have to stress all new members to read the map posting rules before posting. My opinion... My very first post in FH
Look a new person may not know everything. I think it is a bad thing but we have to deal with it. A lot of people have complaints and I understand that when you were new you did follow the rules. Maybe the new people just look for the New Topic button and start posting. That is why people can tell them to read the rules next time around. If the person doesnt fix the post it is locked. There is no way to prevent these people from joining ForgeHub. Deal with it please.
I can't! I remember the good old days on FH, where the map threads and Fh itself was spam free and when you post a map you can see it there on the same page the next day. Now its filled with new members who doesn't even try reading how to post there maps before posting. You can literally check all the people who has posted in the casual map forum and see that the majority of them only have about 2-25 posts...
I'm going to make this quick n' easy. Deal with it. When I posted my first map, i did it wrong too. But I gladly changed it back when I realized it "wasn't up to forgehub standards". Also by saying "everyone" knows not to post a edited map in a new thread, you are wrong. If he just joined, there is no way he's going to even know anything about that. Heck, i didn't even know it. Anyway, just deal with it.
Lolz the reason it was spam free was because only guilders could post there uber maps... Sure I agree, and there should be some tutorial or something that forces people to make a organized thread.
Finally somebody understands...But were guilders the only ones to post? I was abl;e to still post in the forum... The only reason why your telling me to deal with it is because you are new to FH yourself. And when i said "Everybody knows..." i also said that if he would had read the thread, he would had also know as well....
I think that there should be a big button on the front page that says post a map and that takes you right to the map posting rules and then there is a checkmark to say that you read the rules. After that you just pick what forum to post it in and then make it. That should at least help a bit.
Ok people don't read rules at first common mistake and they will learn off of that and tips from others its not a big deal especially if they fix it.
Hay shihuru you seriously posted this, wow your way cool, you actually wasted this much time make this post, well if I see any more crap about me and its from you, my friends and I are going to fry your router and steal your account. So I suggest you to grow up and stay the **** out of my way.
Lol, fry my router, wow. Hey guess what, i even posted this in my blog too. All i see are new members posting mistakes in the casual maps forum. All im saying is if you don't know something, don't be afraid to look for help, thats all...
Let's put it this way. You're a new member, relative to me. I can't just say, "Let's ban new members from entering", because it's not fair. Then you wouldn't have been able to come to FH.
Give the members some time. They'll learn eventually. I know several members that NOT new, and give problems. It's really the mature ones that post correctly, and fluently. They are willing to learn from there mistakes, and when they make one, they fix it. When we have immature people posting, that's who we should ban.
Hey, weren't you like that once? I'm sure you were. You have to give them some slack. Just lead them around and they might grow up to be another Sarge.
Okay, my first map wasn't on the standarts but people of ForgeHub helped me out, I fixed it, and it was. I think when new members create their account, they'll need to look to the rules before they can even post.
As a personal question, why do you post your maps? On-topic, new members will learn, and I believe it is improving(the map forums), the message will eventually rub off, and that BAMF guy, you're gunna get perma-banned if you try to hack people.
I understand your plight with newer members not following the rules. You seem somewhat offended these new members are not following the rules. Notify a mod of what the member is doing and they should take care of it.
It takes a while to learn everything about the site, there are a lot of rules to be followed and such. Just give them time, I'm sure you didn't read every rule thread when you first joined.
We must find a way to control the new members population. Do you get an infraction for posting a map that is not formatted correctly? If not they should.
