I would like to see an ice fields remake. In case you aren't familiar with halo CE, this is a rough overview: Base (| -\ -|) Base There's a small bridge in the middle of the level, and a direct route for vehicles, this gives a headlong/valhalla feel. I see a lot of people want a headlong remake, but it wouldn't serve as a good symmetrical map. Ice fields can serve as a good map for both. The thing that I liked the most is that it works with everything. I can even see some good infection games on this, which I barely ever see on some medium-large maps. About the avalanche criticism, play Sidewinder, then play Avalanche. You can see the kind of map they were trying to get in halo CE, but weren't able to achieve, for some reason I was seeing more FFA slayer games on it then team based games. Now play avalanche and look at the differences.
Interesting Yeah it does look like a good map. I don't care TO much about the symmetry although I have to admit I find myself falling into symmetrical maps although making the other half can be sorta boring if it's a big map. I loved the look of headlong though, having that huge tower and two side paths with that broken bridge was pretty cool. It's sucks not having Halo:CE for the Computer X| lol
Yeah, Ice Field sounds nice, but they would have to change the setting, we already have Snowbound and Avalanche, so they'll probably need to change the setting like they did with Guardian to Blackout.
im am not putting down purple reign. it looks pretty cool. but it just has motifs of midship and cold storage all over it. i think if they just came up with something completely outlandish and new, it would catch people's eye more. i havn't seen any preview for space camp though so i can't comment on that. but anyway the topic at hand. tsavo highway remake. ummm. no. i think its time to put remake idea's to rest. Although i will agree with you that if they had thought about this during the heroic map pac era, then it would have been cool. but now, it just seems overdone. good idea though.
most likely there gonna make space camp, assembly(formerly known as purple reign) and 1 or 2 other maps. i saw pics of assembly which is supposed to b a remake of midship. i dont think it looks like midship except for the scenery. so if they do make a remake i always liked terminal. but they seriosly shold make all new maps. a map pack of four for 800 points like on cod4. and besides they basicaly made almost all the H3 maps based on campaign: snowbound-Halo sandtrap&Epitaph-the ark Foundry-the storm&floodgate and standoff-is tsavo highway(just not the highway part lol) valhalla-the covenent etc... so on and so forth
Assembly was in no way supposed to be a remake of midship. Bungie has stated this many times. Also, i'm hoping space camp (i think thats what its called) will have nice vertical room like blackout for forging. Also, valhalla is I beleive a remake of the campaign mission in halo in halo ce. It has a stream down the middle, an ocean on one side, a waterfall on the other, it sort of has caves and hills. It is right when you come out of the forerunner made tunnel. I doubt there would be a tsavo highway remake but that would be cool.
Honestly, I'm just phyced for Space Camp. I can;t wait to see what stuff Bungie adds into the Forge, and I alread have a whole slew of ideas to forge.
I think bungie should have a remake of the campaign level Cortana. If it was all full of flood stuff. Man, that would be awesome! Also, if there is another halo 2 or halo remake, I'm gonna flip out at bungie! I am sick and tired of these friggen remakes!!!!!!!!
Styles I sorta like the covenant style. The recent maps are usually going forerunner and such. I think the scenery in Assembly is pretty good. But Space camp I believe will have one room, lots of camping chairs lined up in rows. With a stand, lukems as a teacher, and a chalkboard in front of it all. With Shishka lurking in the shadows.
A Tsavo Highway remake would be cool, I would want it to be a really big map, like Avalanche, but night Length wise, like overall. The bases could be like the first place you appear on the Level. There could be underground tunnels between the bases - Small - Not big enough for vehicles. For close combat. Then outside there could be a highway on one side with a broken part so vehicles can't go over after a certain point. And then the other side could be a high terrain with drivable passages and small refugee points on the side.
Yeah, I would want it the basic layout of Valhalla, but with a tunnel going between the bases. Also, that highway part sounds cool.
I really wish they remade Ice Field instead of Sidewinder... it's got a much better style of layout, since an S shape gives far more importance on the middle, rather than on Avalanche where the only thing under the forerunner arch is hornets and ground vehicles and no combat whatsoever except in the spartan laser rush. If they wanted to keep Sidewinder scenery, but in an S shaped layout like Ice Field, it would have been much better imo. I'd really like to see some new scenery. Forget UNSC, forget Covenant, forget forerunner, just do some good old random planetary things and say it's a fight over resources or something. A waterfall styled map would be cool, bases on each side of it and caves or something inbetween
This is a pretty bad idea,no offense.But the whole thing is a little tough don't you think.Bungie tryies their best into every one of there maps.Do not take things for granted,it will get you in a thihgt spot.But they design,make forge lists,and more.From my perspective I do not see this happening in the nearby future.
