D_day recreation of the storming of the beaches of normandy on foundry with a territories game. works with slayer as well. the americans spawn on the bottom and try to get all the territories now the turrets you say could be a problem. wrong with my varient you are invaulnerable for the first 2 seconds and this doesn't disrupt gameplay at all. also territory 4 cant be capped so get over it. yes the pill box is easy to kill but it is a very effective turret srry i forgot the middle pill box, duh the best part (to everybody about the interlocking, thats bascily the whole map you need to play it in order to get the whloe feeling of the map) V2 coming soon American spawn middle left pill box Right pill box (before) Right pill box (after) overveiw MAP DL Bungie.net : Stats Sign Up Varient DL Bungie.net : Stats Sign Up
Didn't you just post this earlier? Yes you did: http://www.forgehub.com/forum/aesthetic-maps/31504-d_day-saving-private-ryan-opening-fight.html
I feel like you already posted this, I saw a map with the same name and pictures. BUt if you didnt, and I'm just being weird, my apologies. On to the map, This looks pretty well made. I really like the look of the central pillbox. I'm slightly worried about the right pillbox though. It looks wayyy to easy to dispatch, all you have to do is shoot a few bullets in that direction OR a grenade and the thing is blasted to kingdom come! Couldnt you have made it slightly harder? Hope this helped, MattDGiant
This simply looks great. But maybe you should add more to it. In the movie (and in real life) people got mowed down as soon as they stepped off the boats. Nobody was safe til they got to the hill. The map just seems too small. I suggest using more of the space (maybe reverse the map so attackers start on the 'legs' of foundry). This may open up a lot of space. I will test this out when i get LIVE working or I goto my friend's house. EDIT: Do not double post a map. PM a mod and ask him to lock the one in aesthetics.
You can't post twice. Now i'm thinking about not DLing. I still like it though but if you post it again i'm reporting!
yes he did already post it, this thread should be closed right away, no one else rate it. he just reposted because the first one isn't in newest maps any more, so he double posted
wow, you tried to neg rep me. rofl. good thing you can't it was just neutral, my post was not spam, had i known that you were told to repost it i wouldn't of said it, but i didn't, and yet you tried to neg rep me. andi doubt someone would tell you to repost it. unless it was some trainee that you actually listened to. the rules are clear. oh and i can neg rep so.... edit: my sincere apologies, it was not you who neg rep'd me but someone with a very simlar name, please disregard what i said above. i will know give you +rep to even things out, and again, sorry
unfortunelty it won't let me give you +rep because i just gave you negative by mistake, so if everyone could please give him +rep, that would be appreciated
this map looks better made than storm the beach. the only missing part is the water. but u ccould make that up with shield doors
nukezilla- when i get my live working, we should make an asymmetric map together. my forging strength is my good ideas and structure of my maps. and you seem like you have good ideas and good interlocking. so those mixed will make a completely original, interlocked, and structurally perfect map! now more on the map: this map is too crammed so i think if you do what i said before, it would be great. Also, when the fusion coils are blown up, it should destroy the pallet but not kill the person. That way they fall into a 'death pit.' On the movie they were shot and killed after they fell. Try organizing the attackers' zones into cover points. They run enough to make it to one point where there's cover, then they advance to more cover. Eventually they make there way up and take control of the wall.
No he can't make up with shield doors. because they can block bullets, and grenade can bounce off of them... IM seeing to many D Day maps though, I just saw one in the B.net forums...
If they are layed down then nades bounce just like they would off the ground (with a little extra bounce) and bullets hitting the shield laying down is no different from them hitting the ground.
But what the other guy said that the maker of the map can used as a water scenery. Bullets go through water, grenades go through water, but they can't go through a shield door. So this can give players "some" sort of protection. Its better if he doesn't add Shield doors to the map...
He means water on the ground. Like on the edge on a beach. I've seen it in plenty of my maps. You just have is set on the ground so it looks like water instead of the boring foundry floor. But I see what you were thinking though
i was going to add sheild doors and more cover and all this othe stuff like makeing it bigger i just dont have an infinate buget map
4/5 This is a very neat and interlocked map, however here's some things that could possibly make the map better: -High Ground, Valhalla, or Last Resort could all be used for this type of map, it beats the overused foundry look. -Make one of those boxes look blown up and stuff, like on its side and geomerged, and make it hard to get in, then put in a rocket launcher. -Make it a lot harder to destroy the pill boxes from the front, and much easier from the back. Overall very good map though. Good interlocking and somewhat original idea. The territories was a brilliant idea.
