The flare is unrealistic for an explosion if thats what its supposed to be although I doubt you were really trying to make it look realistic. It looks alot like your render but the googles and background are different. It looks great...
the flair is from the sun, thats supposed to be just left of the explosion, notice the light on the left side of the man.
I actually like it Personally, though, i would take the glare off, or at least make it smaller it would make the nuke more dramatic =]
OMFG. i love you. This is great. Its just perfect. I wouldn't change it at all. the beauty... is just beautiful... defintely most artistic. colors and all are brilliant. if i were you i'd post the stock, just so ppl kno how much you did.

Its not thatttttt Artistic its more apocalyptic, nice work though, I think you should sharpen the render once and the text is good.
hmm... light coming from the back left of the man would not make a lens flare dead on like that. it would look like the render with just a sliver of highlight on the left side of the goggles. the text on the gun is very nice tho!
