It's not the new ForgeHub, as the old one is still there. You can change skin in the bottom left corner of the page.
I like this one better atm. It can't match the aesthetic perfection that is Bnet, but it still looks good, the blue is good as well. I think that the halo 3 symbol (for new posts or not) should be replaced with respawn points. I might try it in photoshop.
Can't vote, there's not a "neutral" option. I don't dislike it, but if it never changed, I never would have cared.
I'm using the old one. The new one runs slower and its too popular to use dark colors. If it had better shades like bungie.net I would use it.
I actually like this one. I love dark colored skins. It makes the site feel more warming. Most designers would know. (I am one). So yea that is my brief opinion.
Dark colors (such as this site) actually have the opposite effect. The site feels colder and uninviting. Warm colors are more inviting than those which are dark. And bright color schemes on a website look more professional and are easier to read as well. I'm very shocked that the site switched to a dark color scheme. Some elements they've added are a step forward, like the ability of the layout to stretch to any sized screen. But they dropped the ball on the color selection. I'm sticking to the old school layout.
If done correctly.... But look at apple's website, nice and bright. Its easy on the eyes. The majority of professional websites you see will have a brighter layout.
I'm using forge hub X. I think its slightly better than the old layout, but I would rather have a white version of it. Forge hub has always been light colored and this feels a bit different. I also don't get why having pictures of arby, chief, and the other elites is at all relevant to forge. Everything new also seems to indicate forge hub won't be expanding to include other games with map making features like far cry 2. I'm not voting no, but not voting yes either.
Very simple concept. Dark is cool, light is warm. White and black do not denote warmth or coolness. The old forgehub was a neutral site. White with blue, making it neither warm or cold. This one has a cool feeling to it. Dark layouts are easier on the eyes, imagine staring at a light buld. The majority of business sites may be white but this isn't a business.
SWEAT LOL. Anyway, Bungie.net is the ugliest website I have ever seen. I don't know why people think it's so great. Bungies 'better' shades are black and blues. There is nothing special about it. Anyway, if we had a color scheme as so: GRAY-pe-FROOT • Index page I would most definitely use that color scheme. Orange is a such a cute color.
That's quite the opposite of what I've heard. I think I'm well informed on the subject as well. Technically, owning and running a website that produces money is considered a business.
I can't stand the new skin, i went back to the old theme as soon as i figured out how. Forge Hub to me is an online community of friends, not an uber halo nerd fansite, and the new skin... well... it doesnt reflect what this site is about for me. Let's make it as obvious as possible that we're on a nerd site. Not that it's a bad thing, but come on. I like the subtle forge monitor over the master chief halo covered page. It looks like a lot like Bnet. and on top of all that, very uncomfortable dark colors with blinding bright blue text...
I love the new skin IMO because it is much warmer and welcoming than the other one, I'm not saying the old one was bad, it wasn't at all, it just wasn't as cool as this new skin which is cooler and I like the color Grey a lot so thats probably why.
