Triggerable artillery cannons

    This is a simple switch map in which you can turn on artillery cannons against a base on avalanche.

    Here's how it works:

    Throw a grenade into the box this destroys 8 fusion coils that never respawn

    This will cause 8 other fusion coils to spawn on the man cannons that go to the top of the base
    [​IMG]

    The fusion coils fly toward the base

    Explosion ensues

    The artillery cannon will automatically go off after 3 minutes

    This is a pretty good idea except that it only works on avalanch and relies on max/min properties. It could work for some gametypes but i'm not sure you could make fusion coils elsewhere if you used this.

    -the merged boxes look really cool though

    It is a pretty cool switch, and I look forward to seeing it put to good use. The Boxes do look pretty sweet. Just an idea, couldn't you put on trigger to the other base in one base, and another trigger in another (The other mechanism would use the other type of fusion coils), so you could start the mayhem without even going to the other persons base in a game?

    The only way I could make it affect both sides is if there was a box in the middle that turned on both, just because of the mechanics of the switch.

    if you made the box fusion coils on 130 respawn and the fusion coils that spawn for the artilary spawn 130 and make the runtime minimum on 8 then after the artiliary goes off the fusion coils spawn in th box again andyou can keep sending artilary shots mutilple times and if you can figure out a way to make it so you have wait a certain amount of time til the next

    It looks pretty cool for a one flag map, maybe you could turn that into a one flag map and make a thread. but i think its pretty cool, nice interlocking 4.5/5

    well you could do this on other maps by having the fusion coils spawn into mancannons and fly at the target other. forged mancannons replacing the avalanche ones.

    but its a pretty cool idea, but you should have made more than a few boxes for a map, like instead of just posting this invention up, you should have made a level, but used the artillary gun in the map.

    Very smart, good for an asymmetrical game, but I can see a few things that need to be improved. Smart concept, very nice how you wrapped your brain around the min/max numbers. You have potential, now build a map out of this idea. No score because this isn't really a map, but a tool.

    Try to make it on Foundry where the double boxes are like you have it here. Add mancannons to it. There, your done. But if you make it on Foundry, make it a playable map that is good for Capture the Flag. But it would be really cool for infection if the humans were in a base and they could launch fusion coils to fight off the zombies. That would be really cool. But still, nice map. 5/5

    Since this is getting overwhelming support, I'm going to make this into a map. In this map however, the artillery will not be a one-time triggerable thing. There will be a box in the middle that either team can grenade OR shoot to set off the artillery to BOTH sides ONCE. This will add a tactical element because if your team needs to get out then you shouldn't be sending artillery, but if you control the middle you can shoot it off to keep the other team at bay.

    You could make really good maps with this switch, asymetrical maps where you have to either take over the base, kill everyone in it, escape it, lots of options, good job.

    Looks like a good idea, I like the use of the spawning methods. I actually have an idea for a map instead the fusion coils shoot out into the map from the base with the switch inside to. Looks like a good idea to throw into one of your maps.

    Right now I'm fresh out of ideas that could use this, so if somebody wants to use this idea then go ahead. If you need help building I'm available.
    I placed the fusion coils in the lift by overloading the map by the way.

    Nice idea, but I think it needs to be more playable. Like fix the Max/Min Properties and just make a 10 Respawn time for the objects. That'll stop overloading of the cannon and keep realism in it. It would take time to recharge wouldn't it? Or time to reload.
