ive noticed that almost all awsome infection maps are getting 3/5 since there infection, i understand about games where the zombies are one shot kill, and the humans have infinite ammo, but whatabout the actually fun games like fat kid, yes the actual fat kid maps are dumb, as there just a dumb armory, but omega journey maps can be fun whe =n it gives everyone a chance, but i find that only slayer maps are getting featured and only infetion mini-games (which i must say get boring after a few games) also aere getting featured, so why is it like everyone hates infection NOTE: Posts saying that infection id retarded and nothing else will be reported as spam, likewise with comments about how there not perfectly interlocked, as to me, interlocking is only neccesayy when it actually adds to gameplay (secret cubby, secret doors, traps ETC)
It is unliked because the majority that has been made in the past has been incredibly unbalanced and just not fun. Most people were sick of it too, as the main thing people new to halo 3 do is play a lot of infection.
Probably 'cause the majority of Infection maps suck. They're hard to make though, it can be tough creating an equally entertaining game that is balanced for both the humans and the zombies. I haven't seen many people say Infection sucks though. It's what most of my friends play.
i think the games you were talking about with the one shot kill, infinite ammo games are the ones that are hated, and the other ones are to rare... its just uncommon for you to see an infection game that isnt all newbed up as i like to say, with armories and instant kill zombies
yeah, instant kill, armories and ifininte ammo should never be put in an infection game, maybe mini-games with that porpose, but i hate some games
People give poor ratings to Infection maps because some people stereotype Infection, such as one of my friends. Oh wait, he hates H3, screw that example. It's just that people make unbalanced Infection maps and games too often. Usually, if something new is introduced, and people misuse it, then it usually earns a stereotype stating it is bad. That's psychology for you. You would, wouldn't you? The same thing is happening here. People are misusing the Infection gametype, and thus, Infection gets a bad rap.
I love infection and try to make mine unique and fun for everyone. When I play a good infection map it makes you so hyped up to play more. Their are alot of hatters out there though, I hear them all the time yapping about infection maps being unbalanced and not fair.
IMO Halo 2 Infection was the best. Yea there was an honor rule but the gametype and maps along with the sword lunge makes it pretty balanced. Most of the Halo 3 Infection maps are unbalanced. But there was a featured Infection map. Antilion Defense I think. It was cool. No spawn camping for Zombies. No radar. No shield. Balance.
Because infection maps and gametypes have been explored enough and abused enough to the point where people know every little setting about it or know every general idea about the infection map. :-/ It was good in the beginning. But every good thing must come to an end.
Yes, but everyday i see new and extremely fun infection games, yet i see also the retarded dumb maps with liitle interlocking, i dont feel infections dead, but im not saying its completely alive. ok
Actually I played this new type of infection a week ago, It was Swat Infection and it was really sweet. The zombies had the brs and humans had the crappy pistols or something else.
AS i played infection since its origin in halo 2, i know quite a bit about the nature of its fun. Infection is fun when you DON'T have a mega awesome fortress of doom. Infection is fun when there is nowhere to run and you have to watch your back ALL the time. Unfortunately, people don't understand this and create well, Mega fortresses of doom. Infection is fun when you have no ranged weapons so your timing is your only thing keeping you alive i.e. shotgun + bulltrues. If you don't understand, play Infection on Foundation in Halo 2. You'll understand.
I don't hate it. It's just that Halo is a FPS, not a FPBM (First Person Brain-Muncher) It's not the game play we all signed up for when we bought H3.
I honesty flintched about what you said about the "no shields infinite amo" I can understand that on some maps this is true, but I accualy really enjoy no shields infinite amo, sure there may not be any "skill" or anything to it, But I find it an be really fun on a well made map to have 14 or so zombies flying at you from all directions... But I kind of agree there are too many maps out there with zero interlocking where it should be and just really unbalanced gamplay. I don't think it's dead, it's just has a very bad rep.
well, i meant like, there is one zombie to start, and the map has little cover, and its easy to spawn kill,
Oh well in that case I completly agree with you, when you can't even make 5 steps forward without beinmg spawn camped at with a Br it's no fun.
It's liked for many differant reasons, I dislike it, because all the infection maps are houses or something like that, and have all been done before, when someone brings something new, and inventive, then I'll enjoy it.
I hate putting on/playing infection maps on simply because people moan too much. First they said it was 'too hard on the zombies', then when they were human they said 'too hard on the humans'.
