Its not a very advanced technique. It involved making a very steep slope, which turns into a slant of blue. You add bushes for effect, and it looks slightly like a waterfall, but it isnt great. It looks better on FC:Instincts than FC:Instincts predator
So, afterall, because there are no physics and you are allowed to place anything anywhere, are caves possible, or underground tunnels as long as you make the ground elevated already by rocks/whatever?
You can float scenery, so long as there are some rock-themed objects then you could create a ditch using the terrain editor, then create a roof using rock scenery, which would create a cave.
Absolutely insane. I heard you've got like 34958 billion ideas ready, Matty? I've so far got one that may be unique.. ;D
Yea i have quite a few. The thing i'm going to value most is realism, so i'm going to try and recreate urban environments that look and feel alive. I'm going to throw some awesome views in there too. A unique idea huh? Sounds great,
It will require everyone in the party to download it, I think if people spend less time arguing what map to play, and just play a map, we will not actually use any more time up than we do on Halo. Edit: Found the best website for FC ever. Has hundreds of screenshots. check em out!
I really want to focus on awesome gameplay elements. Hang-gliding onto an island fortress, raiding a warehouse at midnight in pouring rain, driving across the desert in scorching heat to make it to the next outpost. The awesome thing is that each of these is possible in the editor, and I'm sure I'll have more ideas once I get going.
I have a sweet idea. (kind of related to Coolants post) Have the attacking team spawn on a platform high above the defenders island, and have to drop onto the island in hang-gliders. They could pick where they wanted to land. Close to the enemy base to get right into the action, in the thick jungle to possibly launch a sneak attack, at the beach to get vehicles, or in the town outside of the base to grab weapons and flank the base. And possibly an underwater cave to the island? I'm getting tons of ideas. I can't wait for this game.
That sounds very exciting. Maybe when it comes out I'll test it for you. Is it true only one person at a time can make a map? If so then I'll be in private chat a lot, it's hard enough forging alone.
Is Forgehub going to make another website for Far Cry 2? It would be just like Forgehub! EDIT: When is this amazing game going to be released?!?!
I believe that Matty has said that only one person at a time can make a map. I know what you mean about forging alone, it gets so boring.
Private chat lol..Where theres a lil bubble by your name and you can talk to someone anywhere any game 1to1
The one thing i enjoy most about the FC editor is the single player aspect. Sure its great bieng able to show others your progress, but i much enjoy building up the suprise and showing them the finished project, it is much more exciting. The only problem is sometimes you want to rush yourself, which you definately shouldnt. source
