- Description - Conflict is a 2 sided Objective and Slayer based map created on (surprise!) Foundry. The map encompasses the entire Foundry map with the exception of the back hallway and rooms. I set out to make a map that was focused on gameplay and simplicity, but still looked pretty cool. To accomplish that I chose an Urban feel and spent the time and effort to interlock and merge 99% of the map. That's right, look around and you will not find much that's not interlocked or merged in some way. Everything touching the ground has been merged into it to give the map a clean, smooth feeling. I really wanted to create a map such as this because I haven't created an objective map in a while, and also to prove that you can spend the time to make a beautiful map AND make it play good. The basic layout consists of a Red and a Blue base. Each base is unique in it's look, but different in it's layout. As a matter of fact, the only similarities in the bases are the capture points. Outside of the base the terrain is simple. You can drive the "Road" in either the Warthog or 1 of the 2 Mongooses you have at your base. Or, you can hoof it through the center and try to sneak in all stealth like for the Flag or Bomb. The main feature is the back alley where both sides with vehicles can meet for some explosive action. This is where I have implemented a small bit of Rocket Race since both teams have Rockets spawn at their base, so hop on, take the corner and bounce off the wall Rats Nest style, and if you're quick on the trigger hopefully you can blow up the other team before they get you. Now, onto weapons and equipment. - Weapons, Equipment, and Gametypes - The weapon set includes the following. Keep in mind that weapon counts should be cut in half because a lot of stuff appears on both the Red and Blue side. Weapons: Battle Rifle - 6 Assault Rifle - 4 SMG - 4 Carbine - 2 Sniper Rifle - 2 Rockets - 2 Spiker - 2 (exclusive to Blue side) Plasma Rifle - 2 (exclusive to Red side) Machine Gun Turret - 2 Spartan Laser - 1 (Center of Alley) Shotgun - 1 (Center near invisi-door) Grenades and Equipment: Frag Grenades Plasma Grenades Power Drain Regenerator Bubble Shield Trip Mine Radar Jammer Gametypes: FFA Team Slayer CTF Assault and Neutral Bomb Territories - Final Words - This map took about 15 hours to complete. I didn't set out with a specific layout in mind really, just knowledge of what I wanted to accomplish. I put in some neat, but subtle aesthetics such as the middle hanging shield door that acts as an "Invisi-door" as I call it and also allows grenades to be bounced under it. Also, you'll see a return of my patented "Equipment Fountain" that is more like an Equipment Jumbler now. So here is the Link and some pics, enjoy! - Pics - Red Base Blue Base Red Base Blue Base Red Base Blue Base (Road) Rats Nest RR Bounce Sniper Bridge Red Side Middle Blue Side Middle Suspended Invisi-door Back Alley Back Alley Equipment Jumbler Download CONFLICT
wow great map, interlock and the merge looks great 5/5! and im realy suprised that you only build it in 15 hours.
Wow great map enough to be featured IMO. But great interlocking and aesthetics are amazing. 5/5 hands down.
nice map correction... AWSOME MAP!! geo merging great and so is the interlocking looks like fun with a big party I like the equipment jumbler
looks nice and looks like you put a lot of hard work into this map 5/5 but, how many players would you reccomend for a CTF game? just one thing. maybe move the link to map to top of page, i was searching the page for the link because it kinda blends into your text =)
Wow, this is some quality map making. I love the flag cap areas. Not to mention, everything is in the ground! 5/5
I have it set up for 8-12 players, with 8 probly being the minimum. ou could get away with a 3v3 though if you wanted. And thanks for the heads up on the link, I can see what you mean. I'll put it in a more user friendly area asap.
Almost thought this would be lame, but once I saw the structures and the gameplay, I feel that this could end up being featured! 4/5 Excellent job man!
You remind me alot of rusty eagle and his forging. He generally made maps and concentrated heavily on solid gameplay thats reliable, and thus far your maps have shown this. I am really interested to see how this plays out, and indeed this does look like a map to look for on the front page in the near future.
Looks like it would have taken you 15 hours, great work! the equipment jumbler is a sick as idea! never would have thought of it, 5/5!
Dude I've seen alot of great maps in my days... this is one of the most aesthetically pleasing and functional maps yet, that uses the entire map (except the back hallway) This may be The ONE...
love all the kids who rate before even setting foot in the map... 5/5 or 0/5, you shouldnt rate before you actually get to run around a map at the very least. much less play it. Creep, I love this. I'm really impressed with the overall layout. I really, really dig maps that are symmetrical at heart, but actually completely different unique sides. Great work! I really can't wait to play some matches here! hopefully tonight? whatdya think, man?
Thanks bro, and definitely getting some matches tonight. I'm hosting a TGIF party so I will be on almost all night.
What a smooth looking map. Considering the time-frame and your "general" approach it all looks very clean and neat. I like the vehicle support, it's always cool to see a map that will support a bit of vehicular mayhem. If only I could do these TGIF things it would've been cool to give this map a proper playtest.
Thanks Buddha, coming from a guy that makes pretty smooth maps himself, I'll take that as a huge compliment.
Great job, Creep1ing De4th, It's good that whenever you post maps, they're always amazing. Using all of foundry makes this map play so good. I would definitely recommend CTF for this map over slayer though. The game play is fantastic, the aesthetics are clean and look great, might I mention the flag spawn area. My friend JEEF showed me this map first and I realized that everything was morphed into the ground by one door side and the interlocking was flawless, I knew someone pretty pro at forging had to make this . Great post. 5/5.
