There is a tree brush system where it randomly places lots of different trees together. There are different styles you can place for this brush, like dense jungle, light jungle, forest etc. Is that what you were referring to?
Wait, like Sims in halo. Those RPG's or is there another meaning. Cause I was gonna make hitman. That would win. You like get 15 people in a party with snipers to hide, then invite someone and just keep destroying them. =D
Um i guess like sims, you play a rolde as a character and you do things, etc.I was referring to far cry instincts predator not halo but..
Oh yea i guess like you and about 4 people do jobs to collect money and ou can build anything.Like at the end of the game he will ask you if you ant to buy anything and you say like a house on the waterfront, and they will go to editor and make it.
Yeah it will be hard to judge a lot of the city maps as far as which ones you should download, but I guess that means people not rating maps on pictures alone. I know the obvious initial trends will to build call of duty/battlefield environments/cities, but assuming I do make a map with the map editor I'm going to try and build a more symmetric Unreal style epic ass CTF (Steal the diamond lol) map with killer bases (I hope this is possible) and stuff. Actually that leads me to two questions: 1. Can you design and texture your own geometry pieces? 2. Can you d/l maps online the same way you can for halo 3?
The Far Cry 2 map editor is a solo editor. Maps will only have 1 author. Although there has been talk of a system implamented where downloaded maps could be edited, but the author would not change. Instead it would say who edited the map. This has not been confirmed however.
1. We aren't sure at this point if you will be able to design your own items, but so far we've seen that landscapes are able to be textured. Not so sure about actual buildings though. 2. Yes, there will be a system to download maps based on ratings and whatnot from a central server.
There are a whole load of textures available this time around. Theres also a 'noise' feature where you can mix and blend textures together, and ultimately create your own textures. This sounds very exciting.
