No, I used the clone stamp tool on those bars. Theyre copies of parts of chiefs head.

You can do Clip Masking in Gimp. So much easier than doing it in photoshop.

You need to work on having a fixed focal point. Chief's head, the text, and the bars aren't working out well together.

Not true. You've had Photoshop for 3-4 days, so you're used to GIMP more. That's the only reason why you think it's easier.

Either make the bars bigger or make the picture more clear.

i love the clone stam tool. it was what i used to make my first sigs. i didnt know anything about brushes so i just took a normal picture and lengthened out the background and stuff with simply the clone stamp tool. it was really sweet. i approve. and good job

Hmmm. its a nice effect. I'm not sure what the clone stamp is, or how to use it. but the little rectangles are nice touches.

its pretty good, but did you do the effect (like the sorta smudged paiting look) or did you find the image like that?

I think you should try to use clipping masks because then you can move around the picture inside the bars. That way you can make quick and easy adjustments.

    new layer at top > IMAGE-APPLYIMAGE > CTRL+ALT+G ... done!

Zero, when I use the clone stamp. All I have to do is click another area to move it inside the rectangle.
