When you have a map that you think should be a bit better, do you re-make the thing from scratch? Or do you Improve upon the original map. Most of the time I Improve on the map, mostly I strip it down to the Geometry then re-do it.
It all depends on what you are trying to make better. If it is weapon sets and scenery and small geometry changes, I will just strip down the map, but If I have to make a huge change in geometry that requieres deleting a lot of it already, I just start over. Hope this helps.
well it depends on the map. usually you would keep the basic geometry of the map and change like walls and dumpsters and those things that are easy to move. only when you have a better idea and your original map was crap would you then re make the whole thing
As Dimmest said, it really depends on the scope and scale of the changes you're making. As a tip, though, numbering in versions does help. What I believe you can classify as improvements would result in an increased decimal increment, while remakes can result in an increased integer. For example, when I release Circulation v1.1 (link's in the sig, I won't spam you), it's going to include little improvements on the map (for instance, fixing the walls that don't appear on round start, maybe cleaning up the ceiling in the ring of death a bit). However, when I finally rebuild (from scratch) to take advantage of the budget glitch, it will be Circulation v2.0. While not entirely related to the topic, I think it will help sell your map a bit more.
