Recently a Bungie.net group called Lower the Guns has sprung up over at Bungie.net. The group is dedicated to having the ability to lower guns over XBL in Halo 3 for machinima purposes. The group plays to not play Halo 3 on September 25th to show Bungie what would happen without the support of machinima creators. While we may be feeble forgers who spend their time tweaking boxes, we can still support this! I would like to see as many people from Forge Hub supporting this group and helping their cause. To show our support Forge Hub will not be posting a front page news story, map, Forging 101, etc on September 25th. I'll see all of you on XBL on September 25th, on something other than Halo 3 of course. Lower the Guns Group Video Demonstration via Flem Productions
*Joined* I most definitely support this cause. And you will most definitely not see me on halo September 25th.
Like I said before, Halo 3 is one of the best Machinima making games ever with it's theater, forge, ect. But the non weapon lowering over Xbox live is probably the dumbest ideal, worse than the combination to lower your weapon. Maybe hold down Left Bumper.
I may not see a personal issue here, but that is because I don't know anything about machinima. I can see how it is bothering those that do, so in order to show my support I have decieded to join the cause. You won't see me on Halo 3 September 25th.
? I just checked out their link. I'm not sure I understand their mission. Is it an orginized strike to demand a feature that would alow you to lower your weapon so they could more easily create machinma clips? If that is what they are asking for, I don't see how it would be possible as all of the buttons on the controller are spoken for.
i signed up, and support this cause full heartedly. i won't be on Xbox live at ALL on that day. plus, lowering your guns makes it easier in RPs over Xbox live.
I rarely play after school anyway, so I don't think staying off halo will be much of a challenge for me.
I agree with nemi. I'm sorry, but I really don't think they'd be able to do it like a quick fix which is what all of you are implying. Also, even if they could, one day of striking is not going to change anything. When you want to go on strike, you have to do it for a while, to really get them to miss you. They already know a lot of people want that function, so you're just proving what they already know. It's like if you want something, you have to have something big to trade for it. Unless your going to stay off xbox live until they give it to you, they probably won't. I also think that some of the buttons mentioned would not work well. Hold the a button certainly wouldn't, because the jumping action is triggered when the button is pushed, not let go. The only one i can think of that might work would be by holding the grenade trigger when you had no grenades. That's what it was in halo 2, but then people could shoot while they're gun was in the down position and bungie has never been one for having things "look" wrong.
The word disabled is key. Is it just disabled? Or, is it really not there at all on xbox live? I guess it's a matter of self opinion really. I personally do not think it's there. Does that mean it isn't? Certainly not. It is just an opinion, and nothing more.
You won't see me on Halo 3 Sept. 25 It won't make much of a difference but I'll be off. It's like saying I support your cause to the hippies camped outside of the Pharmacy so they can get medical marijuana. You support their cause but they ain't gettin' any Mary Jane.
I posted about this a week ago. Finally a higher authority to support its cause. http://www.forgehub.com/forum/halo-discussion/25087-weapon-lowering.html I hope a lot more people join. This is something Bungie should have done a long time ago. That, and they have not responded to us telling why they didn't add it in or why they can't.
