I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Hooray, Communist China.

True story: A guy I worked with went to China to try and sell and idea for a construction related tool that makes fitting water pipes easier. When he got there one of the first things he saw was a small child with her mother drop her pants, defecate on the sidewalk, pull up her pants, and keep walking.

They can't even clean up the poop their children drop so I can only imagine how dog feces is treated. But then again it seems as if dogs are more food then pet over there. Sick.

Yeah I watched it and I got nauseous. I can't understand how a person could skin a live animal. It's so inhumane and should be outlawed worldwide.

Isn't doing that to a live animal already outlawed in almost every major country? Under animal cruelty laws?

I don't think it is outlawed in Communist Countries. They really don't have any rules except for the ones they make. So most likely thats legal. As for the Olympics, I can say that I've never watched any game of Olympics because I know that somehow every team cheats. Yes I support our team, but I'm sure we cheated at least once. Sports and contests have gotten so unruly now that all they want to do is win and earn their fame and they'll do it at any cost. Obviously, China states my opinion well this year. I'm sure they wanted fame for building the stadium too, which shouldn't get any fame due to the fact that by that alone they probably killed 100s of people. Anyways, thats my take on the Olympics. I just don't care, it's only a game.

Using silver-iodide to make it rain is common in the US. That's how many of our desert cities get their water. I don't think it's a controversial technique.

But I hope that China's attempts to fool the world will be as ineffective as they are shameful.

Yea I agree, we should just start a plague... With 1 billion people it should not be that hard to infect a lot of those people...

That and the other thread was about the girl. This thread is about how China is doing a horrible job at trying to keep up appearances. With examples to prove that point.

Because this stupid child's insolence needed to be shown again.

To get rain in a desert that needs it sure, but to stop whether for a sporting event? Don't you think that in itself is a bit controversial. Wasteing money on these things when they should be spending the money on much greater needs. China should not have hosted the Olympics, they don't have the money for it. They need to be helping their own people instead.

Are you talking about the one in my OP?

It's a picture from the Olympics showing what they want the outside world to see on the left. The blue thing in the middle is a wall they built to try to stop people from seeing the real China (The squallers on the right).

I find it extremely annoying that everyone is talking about how dirty China is, when it is most likely none of you have ever been there.

Yes, in Beijing there are problems with pollution in the air, but there have been many tests showing that the air pollution has minimal effect on the athletes. Also, do not say China, because if you travel to other cities in China (yes, China is country with many cities you idiots), you would see the true beauty of China, not just the darker side that the media overly emphasizes. Just because Beijing is covered in smog, doesn't mean that the whole country is that way. I myself traveled to China last year and stayed there for several weeks, and know this is true.

Everyone knows China is dirty and scandalous? Why do all of you insist on mixing the Chinese government with the people of China as a whole? As previously stated, if any of you went and stayed in China you would have a completely different view of this whole thing. The Song ****ing Remains The Same. You will find that wherever travel in the world, the song will remain the same. Do not think that because of the Chinese government does some pretty controversial stuff, that the people of China think the same way. In a sense, you will find if you spend a length of time in China, you will find that the people are not much different from yourselves, in the way they act. I'm not talking about eating habits, all countries will vary with those, or religion or language. When it all comes down to it, the song remains the same. Led Zeppelin said it right, and I, through experience, know it to be true.

    Wrong.

China does have the money, they are one of the richest countries in the world, and rapidly becoming so.

However, I do agree to the full that they should put a hefty amount of that money to helping their people, but that can be said for many countries, including our own.

China's like a new Freshman in High School. Freshman often try and be something they are not by putting on a facade that they are someone else than they really are. As long as we see what China truly is through these articles then, who cares what they do to try and impress us.

I think China thinks its not good enough for the rest of the world. This is why they went through these efforts to make the Olympics flawless!
