I think it needs a light border, and maybe you could post the colored version?

 

If you erase some of the specs around his head and the ones following his arm, it should looks alright.

I think its fine how it is now. Maybe a slight blur overlay on the focal point, but nothing major.

 

Oooh, cant go wrong with sprites. Make sure to not make the sig too big though. And good job with the border and the sharpening.
