Alicia Sacromone and the US girls gymnasts' choked down the stretch against the cheating pre-pubescent Chinese girls. It is a shame that there is nothing that can be done about their cheating since the government made their birth certificates when they were taken from their homes at age 3 to train. The judging was also pretty biased.

At least USA's girls are cuter (especially Sacramone, damn) and don't cheat. Well, if gymnastics don't work out for Sacramone, she at least has a porn career to fall back to.

The Chinese can enjoy cheating to win gymnastics (the men looked like they were roiding too) and lying in the opening ceremony to show their flawless image while the Americans continue to kick their ass in basketball, track and field, and every other meaningful sport.

aww that girl was the most amazing gymnast i had ever seen. i saw her on the balance beam.. it was FLAWLESS! she made no mistakes whatsoever.. yeah that lowered my opinion of the people who did that to the chinese girls.. as if it wasnt low enough.

Were you watching the same girl? She fell off the beam, and then, she fell over and went out of bounds on floor.

I swear the oldest on the Chinese team looks like she isn't even 16 yet. And she's supposed to be 20?

The Americans did great. Just because Alicia fell doesn't mean she lost it for the whole team. It probably would have been extremely close anyways. She also wasn't the only one on the team to mess up. Both of the others went out of bounds on the floor exercises.

I mean, they still got silver. That would be good enough for me considering how great the Chinese team did.

Anything less than a gold was a disappointment for the Americans as you saw by their faces after winning silver. I never said Alicia lost it for them, but she did choke. The other two gymnasts on the floor fell too, but she is the one that is going to have nightmares about those falls for the rest of her life. I felt really bad for her though.

Man, it's gotta suck to choke like that when you've been training for so long. She might be around for the next couple of Olympics, so she has a possible shot at redemption.

Yes, although 24 is the equivalent to like a 40 year old playing football (Brett Favre anyone?) in gymnastics.

Yeah that really sucks. Personally if I had been training all my life, I wouldn't be content with silver. At this point I probably would, but with a lot of work in it, that would really suck.

Hopefully they get another shot. Really sucks about the Chinese girls though.

Yeah I noticed that too, the youngest one looks like she's 12 at max.

The men were huge too, but I think they were legit, I mean at least they looked like they could be in College. But compared to the Japanese (who are far better IMO) they're like the ****ing Hulk.

I don't know. I don't know if you saw it, but one Chinese guy did a backwards flip on the rings with no momentum. The should strength you have to have to do that is ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised if they were juicing, but like the pre-pubescent girls, you can't prove anything.

I wonder what the Chinese will do when their gymnasts lose their baby teeth.

yeah except Brett Farve is still a great QB... as for the gymnasts, i agree that it really is a sport for the young. I think you should be able to start earlier because you should be able to go at least twice and all the best gymnasts are really like 16.

That's the beauty of the olympics. Most people only have one chance, so they leave it all on the field, pool, gym, etc. I think the age is fine because if it was any younger, China would start sneaking in 5 year olds.

The point wasn't that she wouldn't be as good at that age, but I used Brett Favre because it is just as rare to see someone in their mid 20's in gymnastics as it is someone in their 30's or 40's in most sorts.

I did see something like that, he pulled up from horizontal to vertical without going down at all. But I'm glad America's star Olympian (Phelps) doesn't try and cover anything up and voluntarily does drug testing.

But I mean cheating in the Olympics is almost as stupid as cheating in video games, just with more serious consequences. Although it would be cool to get Gold medals and stuff, if you don't get it legit, it's just stupid.
