Ok I'm back. It took a while, I know.

No it's not that problem I have either, Jpec.

K so this is what I do before it happens:
    I tried to play local/invite only/open party/system link(but none help) while I forge.
I place out lost of objects, most of them are interlocked, some merged, and they are all perfectly straight and level. Then I save the map and quit. Next time I forge on the map, all of the objects are bent and/or crooked. And I've tried everything I know to stop it.
I'm very angry because I cant build maps until this problem is gone :'(

Yeah, in forging with FattyFatFat Kid, it became pretty apparent that my suggestions were wrong. Honestly, I don't know what causes them to get bent out of shape like that, but it sure can be annoying as hell when trying to do ultra-precise forging.

My advice, as I told FFFKid was to see if he couldn't work around it, or just let that one little spot on the map be a little bit off and explain in the post that it's because of a glitch with the forge...

I didn't mess with the spawn rate or anything like that, it's like at the beginning of the round they kind of make a blue explosion and then disappear and whenever they spawn they just make a little blue explosion and disappear AGAIN.

does any1 know how to create gates...not like dumpster gates but like a gate that opens when you pick up a custom powerup and closes after time?

Are you sure you're placing it flat and not slightly on the angled part of the wall?

To quote what I said earlier in the thread:

Other than that, you've just gotta be really precise with your orientation manipulation techniques.

As for the territories thing, if you've got 12 placed and only eight are showing up in the game, try messing with the options on the gametype. Under "Scoring" there should be a line for "Score to Win." Set that to 12 (if it isn't already there), and you should have all your territories showing up.

Granted, if you don't have 12 territories placed, and can't place more than eight, I would recommend deleting a couple non-essential items and putting the territories in.

    Yay double post! =D

Actually no, I have a question and I don't think it deserves its own thread. Is there a list anywhere of all the symetrical/assymetrical gametypes? I'm trying to find one, but all I've found are descriptions and examples (and while I can guess at some of them, I would prefer to know exactly how to tweak my map before I move on to making the gametypes). Thank in advance! ^_^

(as a sidenote, if no such list exists, I'll make it a side-project to compile a list of all the default gametypes that are symmetrical and otherwise, analyze those results, and post them here)

I've heard there is a two man glitch to duplicate items past the limit. Is this just a myth, or can I really make 50 double boxes?

I'm pretty sure it'd be in the forging 101 if that existed. 50 double boxes would be epic.

    Infinite Items Glitch

    original topic, copied here:

    Quote from: Unit N8
    1) Get an infinite budget glitch version of a map

    2) Starting at the first scenery object, place scenery in a confined spot (By a confined space I mean a small room, like the bases on Standoff or the blue rooms on Foundry. The objects don't have to be in the exact same place though, you can just scatter them around the room so they don't get deleted as soon as they spawn.

And the immovable objects should be interlocked if they all spawn in the same spot, but they don't have to be.) and set the spawn at start option to 'no' and the spawn time to 45 s + (the higher it is the more time you get to place another object). Save every now and then.

    3) Repeat step 2 until you exhaust about 10 objects, don't wait for the objects to spawn.

    4) You should get one endless scenery object to place at the beginning of the first round (yea, you have to end the game and start it back up) if you exhaust 10 objects. The more scenery you place in the chosen confined spot, the larger variety of objects you get (but more glitchy the map gets).

By the way, once you start up the map the map will only display you have 1 more of the endless scenery object left. You put that down, save the map, and start it back up. Once you start it back up, you will be given 1 more of the endless scenery object. (repeat)

    2 more things,
    1) You might need to glitch the map (plus increase the run-time min) a bit more to get all of the scenery objects to spawn.

2)You need to place movable objects in the one chosen spot, they don't merge like immovable items. They, unlike immovable items, will explode outward and fill the confined space. They will need more room, so the map will start to delete them to make room for new spawning objects. While this happens, there will be immense lag.

You don't need to save the map while its lagging, just keep placing movable items in the one spot and it will glitch by itself (because in the first round it shows the map after all of the timers have went off).

    Got it from HIH.
Its still not 100% clear on how this works exactly, but mess with it.

    Thanks.

Well I know some things about Geo-locking. So far all I know is how to insert a box into a wall from the ground.. Is there anything more to "geo-locking"? If so please tell. Thanks

Well slayer, first off, don't double post, merely edit your original post, and delete the second if you do it on accident.

Second, there are all sorts of tips on geomerging right here:

First of all, welcome to ForgeHub.

Second, this thread is for questions pertaining to the Forge mode in Halo 3, not the functionality of the forum itself. If you're having difficulty, you should contact one of admins to see if they can help you out either by email or by a private message.

How do you geo merge flat objects in vertically, it always moves around into the barriers

Geomerging flat objects is always tricky business. Let's say for instance that you're working on merging a bridge sideways (or at any angle) into a wall. Obviously the main difficulty is going to be getting it to stay within the boundaries provided, especially once it's made its way through the physical barrier of the wall. The best way I can see of doing it would be to geomerge boxes into the wall next to it as guides, so that once it's in the wall, it'll be less likely to bounce around.

Oh, and if at first it seems to have interlocked itself with what ever guides you're using, go to the side opposite the "interlock" and grab it so as to sort of pull it out. Usually, if you grab it right, it will work beautifully and let your geomerging object rest right where it's supposed to.

And as a side note, I don't expect this method to be very easy at all. Typing it out and actually putting it into practice are two totally different things...
