mikey, i think you should keep the fight for honor slogan. but.. idk.. maybe change the text? to something that looks like blood is driping off the letters? i think that might be cool. but great sig anyways
This counts right? It's Eureka from some anime show, and she fights in a big robot.. That should count? Right? If not just tell me.
i hate all of you that are saying your sig took only 30min or even an hour... this took about 2.5 hours to isolate the parts i wanted and to get the transparency just right, some feedback would be nice anyway... heres my entry
Dulce et Decorum Est I decidded not to do this one on the computer(apart from the border) Instead, I worked away at it in Biology class lol.. then scanned it onto my computer and yeah. The meaning behind the sig.. Bent double, like old beggars under sacks, Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge, Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs And towards our distant rest began to trudge. Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame; all blind; Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots Of tired, outstripped Five-Nines that dropped behind. Gas! Gas! Quick, boys! – An ecstasy of fumbling, Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time; But someone still was yelling out and stumbling, And flound'ring like a man in fire or lime . . . Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light, As under a green sea, I saw him drowning. In all my dreams, before my helpless sight, He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning. If in some smothering dreams you too could pace Behind the wagon that we flung him in, And watch the white eyes writhing in his face, His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin; If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs, Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues, My friend, you would not tell with such high zest To children ardent for some desperate glory, The old Lie; Dulce et Decorum est Pro patria mori. The full saying ends the poem: Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori - it is sweet and right to die for your country. In other words, it is a wonderful and great honour to fight and die for your country Its pretty much a poem about the horrors of war and the propaganda that was fed to the people... _______________ The reason for the Gold outline of the young soldier is because of a book "The Outsiders" and a poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay" (the poem is used in the book, and there is also a movie about the book..) Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay. ___________________ The flowers, symbolize innocence/purity and are contrasted to the dead tree __________________ The heart is symbollic of the young soldier's life What do you think?
