    Lol, new computer = epic winsauce for me
    Actually, I guess you can say I "cheated". After much searching I finally found a good looking brick wall stock image meant for a desktop. I just saved it, opened it up in gimp and did my thing. The splatter brushes were just various brushes from Deviant Art, and the guy is a render I did.

    ooOoo. I just downloaded one called cracks and walls from deviant art that works pretty well, though I've only used it once.

    I never thought of using a wall brush... It would probably have been easier to make it much larger while keeping the guy the size/proportion I want.
