Elixer Elixer is a small symmetrical map that uses the back rooms of Foundry. The map is set up to play Flag, Assault, Oddball, King of the Hill, and Slayer variants. When playing Flag, or Assault, I suggest changing the respawn times down, to about 5. The reason of this because of the size of the map. Over 8 hours of work went into the work on this map. Here is the list: Weapons -2 br's located on each fence wall, each with 1 spare clip and a 30 second respawn -1 sniper located in the sniper box with 2 spare clips and a 90 second respawn -2 mauler's located underneath the sniper box each with 1 spare clip and a 60 second respawn -4 SMG's located in the side tunnels each with 2 spare clips and a 30 second respawn time -1 plasma pistol located on top of the middle tunnel with a 30 second respawn time -4 plasma grenades located in the 2 small boxes that are sunken into the ground each with a 10 second respawn time -1 powerdrain located on top of the middle tunnel with a 120 second respawn time -1 bubble shield located in the sniper box with a 60 second respawn time -1 overshield located in the middle tunnel with an 120 second respawn time(note that the overshield only spawns in asymmetric game types) -1 active camo that spawns inside the middle tunnel with a 120 second respawn time(note that the active camo only spawns in symmetrical game types) Pictures The middle tunnel where the power drain and plasma pistol can be found The sniper box where the sniper and bubble shield is found The plasma grenades are found in the sunken small box and the SMG's are found in the side tunnels The active camo spawns inside the middle tunnel, but is replaces by an overshield in asymmetrical game types A top view of the middle tunnel A top view of the sniper box, the maulers can be found behind the A and B signs The A side of the map The B side of the map Entering the middle tunnel from B side Entering middle tunnel from A side Download Elixer
i think the map looks okay, real open though, and since interlocking isnt a big part, you could undo those and enter the lazy mapmakers contest, i like your map man, throw in some more cover, and i give it a 4/5
Looks like a pretty good map like what has been stated, I think it would be better if it has more cover. Anywho do you reconmend a certain weapon start? (AR,BR,Rockets?)
this map looks a little open and theres not much in the map it doesnt look like it was planned out or even tested. next time try and make a better map.
He allready knows how he has geomerged a box if you look at the pics. The map looks nice but he's right more cover would make it better. When you add more cover I would definately DL that. For now 4/5 but if you adjust it could possably be a 5/5
OMG!!!! nice map!!!! It isn't sloppy ALL and the gameplay seems very good! besides the fact of no cover at all, a 5/5!!!!!!
Agreeing with cover people. More cover, mabye some interlocking, Also looks kinda small, but thats ok. Cover and it would be an excellent 2v2 map.
This is a really nice size and shape for a good 2v2 map, and the sparse weapons also make 2 a preferable team size. Whilst it could work with 10 players, I think it will really be at its best as a competitive 4 player map. But, as others have said, it is limited in cover, the bases especially. I like what you have done with the 2 central structures, they fit well within the map and are nicely accessible. The interlocked bridges leading up to the sniper room look a little untidy though, you might consider flipping them upside down as the underside looks much neater, especially when interlocked. The Sniper rifle seems very dominant though. I haven't played a game on this map, just had a decent forgethrough, but the sniper has 2 spare clips and only a 90s respawn, as well as the majority of spawns being highly visible from the sniper room. I think its gonna be too much of a focus in game, and could result in spawn killing. If a team of 3 or more gained good positions in the map, one of them being sniper, I don't think it would be hard for them to keep the other team pretty subdued. I'd really suggest increasing the sniper respawn time and bulking up cover around the map, primarily in the bases. With more substantial bases, this map could be a really nice 2v2 size stock foundry style map, but symmetrical. The walls at the front of each base are the main thing I'd suggest drawing from, but you may want to move them a bit further back into the bases due to the reduced size of the map. They don't have to be solid walls, but at least a significant defense against the sniper tower. I'd also add a little more structuring around the edges, maybe expand the 2 wall corner structures on either side of the map, make them a bit wider, deeper, higher and easy to get on top of. It would really help to fill the map up a little, and you still have a large amount of your budget left to play with. With a little more cover, structural work and some balance put on the sniper, this could be a really enjoyable 2v2 map, one that I'd really like to play, but its just too open at the moment, and the bases really need some bulking up. I like how you've kept the weapon list short, and your construction skills seem decent, just a little more work and this could be a very fun map.
Yeah, it's a bit open. I'm not sure why you called it small when it uses the larger portion of Foundry. Add a bit more cover and it'd be great. I suggest a V2.
Thanks for all the responses, and since this map has been posted, i have worked on fixing it up and using some the suggestions. I will have an edited map out hopefully by tomorrow. possibly tonight but probably tomorrow.
i think those back wall shouldve been interlocked, and you could have done a bit more geomerging. also i think this map might be a bit open. add more cover and i give it a 3/5
