Exactly my point lol. I don't imagine it would be too large but it will still annoy quite a few people with slow connections sitting there waiting for half an hour.
Well obviously they will be implemented. That's a silly question. They could technically get sued for selling a product that is not compatible with what the product was sold for if the themes didn't work. Silly people these days...
Some people don't have xbox live though, or a broadband internet connection. So how do they get the update? I bet microsoft will have Update CDs given to retail stores that will come packaged with the old 360s.
If they don't have Xbox live then there is no reason for them to have the update... Just like if they have no Xbox Live you wont have an updated version of Halo3 Silly people these days...
Some people will buy the system thinking it has the new dashboard, kids and families especially. The dashboard update effects more things than just xbox live Reynbow.
I realise that, but they will probably be labelled. If they advertise the new dashboard then they will HAVE to update all stock consoles with the new dashboard. Seeing how if they didn't then it would be false advertising, although they could twist it so that it does say that it may require updates to have the dashboard. And I know that the updates do more then just XboxLive stuff, but if you don't have XboxLive silver then I can hardly see how you would even know about the new Dashboard seeing how silver is free and all you need to do is plug in an Ethernet cable with internet running through it. And if you don't have that then... Good luck finding out about it. Your Update CD idea sounds viable though.
Odds are the disks would be free, and if it helps sell the system, you better believe that's what they'll do.
I'm not all that fond of the new mii's or whatever MS is going to call them, but in time I'm sure we will get used to them. I would love to just have a good game on a HDD instead of having to take them all whenever I go somewhere.
