If this debate is gonna continue properly then it must be taken seriously, so take heed before posting remarks that clearly have no actual argument to them. There is the potential for a good debate here, and pornography is a very morally contestable issue, but remember that "citation" is not a valid excuse for violating the no porn linking rule, if you want to cite you must find pages that contain no explicit material, only information that is suitable for everyone.
People are born naked, or sometimes with hats, and reproduce. Usually it's people naked(normal state) and reproducing(in a crazy way). It's just people...being people
I agree with people here so far, I have no moral problem with pornography (excluding pornography based on exploitation obviously, peadeophelia, rape porn etc.), and can't see why anyone would. Claiming exploitation of women seems a pretty thin argument, the vast majority of porn being made in developed nations where the actresses have free choice, and are often paid pretty well. And, whilst I believe that some do turn to porn for money, mostly in less developed areas or nations, pretty much all alternative jobs for them are poor pay for hard work, and so are exploitation as well. Exploitation may sometimes be the case in the porn industry worldwide, but its a problem with people's nature as opposed to porn itself, people will always exploit, and legitimate porn for pleasure, completely consensual, should not be victimised as a result One thing that I'd like to hear people's opinions on is the age at which porn should be introduced to people. Quite aside from the legal aspect, what are your views on when people should have the opportunity to be exposed to pornography?
Ok, fair enough, that's why I followed it up with But I see your point. I wasn't saying people shouldn't have porn thrust upon them (or maybe you think they should, as a replacement for sex ed, its an interesting view), but what age would you consider the human mind able to deal with sex and porn? From a biological standpoint, I don't think any animals have a mentality of shielding their young from sex. I'm not saying we should show porn to small kids, I think the human mind has become accustomed to certain enforced boundaries through our progression into a larger society, but its something to bear in mind.
What about prostitution? It's the oldest profession. As the late George Carlin said, "selling is legal, ****ing is legal, why isn't selling ****ing legal?!?" The worst thing about porn, in my opinion, is that it desensitizes people. You become accustomed to it in a way, and it takes more and more to get you aroused. It's similar to how the body builds a tolerance to alcohol over time. A buddy of mine at work is a very strange individual, and sometimes tells me about the weird porn he looks at on the internet. It's bizarre. But he says that he got to this state gradually over time, and no longer even gets aroused by "standard ****ing". He told me about the 2G1C thing. He told me to watch it. I won't.
I just watched it that is really ****ed up. Reaction to video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uAkMbQWT14
Usually, porn isn't talked about a lot because it's an awkward subject to some. I think introducing it in school in sex ed in high school is just fine because most people have discovered it already, but to those who haven't(WTF?), they would at least know. I think everything is just right as it is right now
Meh My chaplain at school decided to introduce to our class of 2014 about the issues of pornography. Poor kids. Half of them probably didn't even know what porn was. So I guess they googled it. =/
Well, I think that, uh, desire? Is nothing more than natural instinct. Children find it on their own, and they find it around the age of 12 from what I've observed. They see it and it educates them, and then the parents find them, and repremand them. Why, I see no reason. What reason I fail to not understand even more, is the order to never watch it again. This is what confuses me. After the first time, what more is their to see? They have seen it all (short of all that wierd fetish stuff), what harm is seeing it again? This leads me to believe that their is no reason for the harsh and negative opinions of porn, it is merely accepted and passed down through generations as being something to be frowned upon. And as is it becomes easier to access (from magazine to internet) the previous generation knows not how to handle these new situations. A topic such as this is hard to simplify, because it ties into the issue, pre-marrital sex, and sex before the age of 18. I think adults fear that the viewing of porn urges sexual urges, and those urges can be hard to control at a younger age, where the wanting to experiance the act grows, leading to teen pregnancy. They fear that if children can watch it at their leisure, the urges become regular, and must me stimulated, and that is why porn is now frowned upon. Do I agree with this, no, but that is why I think things are the way they are.
Well, think of it this way. When you get dumped by your slutty girlfriend who got knocked up by that guy on the soccer team, you tell me you wouldn't go watch porn. Then we'll debate.
Or you can get a new girlfriend. Either is possible. Watching porn wouldn't really "get back at her" if that's what your aiming for
i like porn. porn is ok. id rather see people getting sexy time rather then sitting in their rooms for 30 years just jerkin' it...but i mean whatever. ohh except kiddie porn...SHUUUUN! its icky, and gross, and people are just sick! but all in all, i say yay for pornographay...get it? ay? hahaha
Females share no similar characteristics to males. LOL IMO, porn shouldnt be introduced it should be left to discovery. I also say yay to porn.
