In the early days of spartan training, three insane military officials designed a CQB structure for the spartans to prove their worth. They were forced to fight until death like Roman gladiators. the horrible facility was shut down and abandoned more than 100 years ago. This is Osmosis.

Osmosis is completely symmetrical and supports team slayer and team oddball. Maximum 4v4, but to try anything over 2 versus 2 you'd be out of your mind, seeing as Osmosis is very small. It's a rectangular, enclosed structure with two stories. Players spawn in either corner of the bottom floor next to the stairs leading up. In the corners opposite the starting spawns are bubble shield behind doors. On the second floor in the center is an active camo, the main power item. Suprisingly it isn't overpowering. I won't go into much further detail, since I have lots of pics and a weapon/equipment list below.

WEAPONS:

• Battle Rifle [x2] 20 second respawn, 2 spare clips.

• Carbine [x2] 20 second respawn, 2 spare clips.

• Plasma Pistol [x2] 60 second respawn.

EQUIPMENT:

• Active Camo [x1] 60 second respawn.

• Bubble Shield [x2] 60 second respawn.

• Spike Grenade [x4] 20 second respawn.

• Frag Grenades [x2] 10 second respawn.

Sorry about the respawn points being in the pictures. But if you can help yourselves, please refrain from commenting about it, I understand that no respawn points = more professional. I'll remember that for next time.


Before we get to those action shots we all seem to love, lets review the gametype limitations. Team-based games only. If you do FFA you may spawn out of the map. If you choose not to use the RED and BLUE you will most likely spawn out of the map. Commit suicide. Up to 4v4, but 1v1 recommended.


Now on the note of starting weapons. Make it BR starts. The weapons on the map are skill weapons. I wanted to avoid automatic guns. No spikers. No plasma rifles. No SMG's. No AR's. My reasoning is that they could be over-powering, but it's mainly just a personal thing. Therefore if you use default settings the starting weapon would be more powerful than everything on the map. Use BR starts.

As for the camo, it proved to be fair. I can't understand why, but it just wasn't overpowering, like I expected.

"Why should I download Osmosis?"

1. It's small so you don't need to waste 10 minutes trying to get a party of 16.
2. It's anti-noob weapon placement. xD
3. It has maximum grenade stick potential.
4. It doesn't have MLG anywhere in the thread. (Wait... DAMMIT!)
5. MOST IMPORTANTLY it has a cool name that's completely unrelated to the map itself.

1. For the record you can go in those second floor fence boxes and in 1v1 (like I recommend) there is no spawn-kill problems but the fighting is fast and frantic.

2. Ugh. You're totally right about those bridges. Sade faceee.

3. Grav lift stairs,I should have done that. ARgh.

No. They are on the inside of the fence box.

 

Yes, the soccer balls just get blown around by the grav lifts, giving a little aesthetic touch.
