So, I just went with my dad for the 12:01 showing of Batman: Dark Knight. I absolutely loved it, 6/5. Discuss if you've seen it! You can say spoilers as I've already said it in the topic.
I personally thought Ledger's acting was among - or was - the best acting I've ever seen. He was funny, scary, about everything. He played his role perfectly. Definately deserves an Oscar for best acting. I loved how he licks his lips, its a great habit that gives Joker character. I can barely find anything wrong with it, tbh.
Just got back from it, the movie lives up to the hype. Did anyone else notice how music very rarely played during the film? It really stood out to me during the action scenes, every sound effect was accentuated and everything felt more real. You never realize how much music can take you out of a movie until they get rid of it. And the Watchman trailer at the beginning of the movie, wow, didn't expect that.
just got back Oh My God, it was amazing, Ledger played an amazing role, as did all the other actors/actresses. Its to bad they wont get to tell the rest of the story of the joker, because who else can play that role? No Body. I found my self rooting for the joker. Even when he was talking to harvey, and basicaly making fun of his dead girlfriend, i couldn't help but laugh on the count of he was in a nurses suit. Basically, on of the best movies i have ever seen, right next to There Will Be Blood and No Country for old Men
I just got back from seeing it the second time. I have to agree with Insane, Ledger's acting was superb. Almost nothing I could find wrong in the movie. One of the main things I didnt like was how it rushed into the movie. I was hoping to have seen more back story on the Joker. I knew that Harvey Dent would become Two Face, I just wasnt expecting it to happen in this movie, I certainly would'nt of expected him to die in this one too. At the end I noticed a few people sitting around, I guess waiting till the end of the credits, I thought I'd let them know that there isnt anything at the end, but I sat through it, so can they. lol. The Dark Knight has now become my favourite movie. I plan to see it a third time soon.
Ah good a spoiler thread, I think Heath's Joker performence will go down in the books as "Greatest Villian Ever". The first scene where he pulls the knife on the guys mouth was intense....I was on the edge of my seat....I never do that. I also loved the fact that he changed the story of how his face was deformed....adding to the mystery of the character....and that we never learned of his former past. I think the creepiest scene is when he's locked up in the cell with the one cop and he's talking about how he loves using knives because "Guns are too quick"....that was truly disturbing. Great, great, great performance. I plan on going and seeing it at the IMAX next chance I get. I'll be seeing this multiple times in the theaters, and I have never done such a thing before. It is easily my favorite super hero film, hands down.
One of the best visual effects I think I've seen was that truck flip. And I'm totally showing my sister a 'magic trick' tommorow...
Seeing as she was really just a character who just 'is', she wasnt horrible, but I guess you dont have to be good to do that...kind of like MJ from spiderman. just realized i said exactly what their saying in the other thread, lawl. ima move this to General too.
I wonder what they're going to do with the Joker's character now that Ledger died....they didn't kill him off....but sequels are impossible at this point, because no one could remotely match the performance Ledger had in the role.
Thats the thing with Batman, you dont need a clear sequel line. I liked how there was no opening to another one, it just felt more wrapped up and complete.
I highly doubt they'll do some of the previous villains(like Penguin and Mr.Freeze*Shudders*) because they arent plausable for the style of movie they're now going for. I reckon either Bane or The Riddler will be the next Villain.
