Hey guys, E3 has had some sick trailers and interviews for both games. Just wonderin' which franchise you guys planned to support.

If you're gonna get both, which one are you looking forward to more.

For me, it's Guitar Hero World Tour. I've always bought GH and I plan to support it forever. You guys?

Very difficult. Rock Band 2 will include 100 + songs AND the entire RB1 setlist as downloadable content. GH will have song creation..

If I had to pick, I'd pick Rock Band 2. They both have their advantages, though. Wait for GH to release its song list before you decide, and pick based on songs.

I'll be getting RB2 because (as much as I tried to get my hands on RB) I don't have RB yet. Played it, borrowed it, became a pro at it, but don't own it. A friend of mine plans to go half-and-half with me (and possibly more friends) on GH:WT, so I'll be fortunate enough to experience both.

    Guitar Hero: World Tour.

I guess I'll be the odd one out. Guitar Hero started it all and they have a better setup for their drums, something "awesome" and new on their Guitar (they even had to patent it!), two words: SONG CREATOR!, and lastly, GH started it all. Technically, Rockband is a ripoff of Guitar Hero. Oh and don't try to pull that bull about Rock Band using Mics and Drums. They stole the Guitar idea and just added a crappy mic and a shitty drumset. GH's drumset will be f-ing amazing! It's like an actual drumset. Also, didn't the creators of GH move to Rockband? So technically neither of them stole and ideas. Oh well....

Yeah...Harmonix started it all (aka the guys that made Guitar Hero I & II AND Rock Band 1 and 2). So I don't get why you're not giving them credit for developing a franchise that you play. I mean it doesn't make sense when you said Rock Band is a ripoff of Guitar Hero. It's comical actually because both franchises were created by the same studio.

Also, I disagree with GH:WT having the best drums (judging by looks mind you...none of us have played it yet, right?). I say the best drums title will go to this baby:

I figured that out while going on my rant. Also, isn't that GH's drum set? They look extremely similar... Yea, I think if you compare pictures between GH's set and RB's set, you would see the similarity. Oh and for those hard base parts in GH, you can get another footpedal. That was very so needed in RB...

Edit: That looks like it could get hectic. Two blues and two yellows? I'm not sure if novices are ready for that... Although that is more realistic than GH's, it may not suit it for gameplay...

Well I'm getting GH:WT because I was never a fan of RockBand, only because of the notes. I hope I don't get yelled at for this but GH is better than RockBand just because GH came out first. Also the notes are easier to see and the new Drum Set for GH:WT has three drums not four so a novice like me can try it but not actually do it. I had trouble with RockBand's drums. I guess I'm not very coordinated. Well that is what I have to say about that.

The cymbals are entirely optional, and act as a second choice for the non-snare parts. Also, the special edition drum set can convert into a real drum set.

And Konami is the company that started the whole video game music thingy. They're finally trying their hand at the home market (their Drummania and Guitar Freaks series were arcade classics), and they're suing Harmonix for using the guitar and drums that were patented in the 90s.

    I'm just a well of facts, aren't I?!

I don't believe they look similiar at all. O_O GH:WT has three pads and two half cymbals. This has 4 pads and (I think) at most 3 full cymbals (not pictured).

Anyway, this is the Rock Band 2's Premium, Ion Drum Kit. It's $299.99 and it's for the "serious" players. If you don't want that then you have the choice to get add-ons (such as cymbals) for your drum kit.

Oh and Arch3m you are right, they did. I meant here in America. GuitarFreaks and Drummania never came out here in America...well until now as in the new band game, Rock Revolution.

for me it's both. right now I own Rock Band for 360 and all of the guitar heros for ps2. but i still plan on getting both world tour and rock band both for the 360. World Tour mainly for the custom songs and stuff you can do. and rock band maily for the drums. The drum set on rock band looks way more pro than guitar hero's and it can be converted into an electronic drum kit. which i really dig because for those who dont know, i am a drummer. Plus i like the song choices on Rock Band waaay better but i like all the battles and the guitar on guitar hero is much better. did anyone notice that the strummer is seriously messed up on the rock band guitar? anyway i like rock band better but i cant pass up on that all that custom content you can create on guitar hero.
